MITRE ATT&CK
2 techniques across 1 tactic: Execution The technique list with ATT&CK links and the kill-chain view is part of the Basic plan and up. |
| Exploitation Conditions | Requires an authenticated Dolibarr administrator (PR:H) with access to the admin database export/backup tool at htdocs/admin/tools/export.php. The attacker supplies a malicious 'mysqldump' command value; even though the restrict_os_commands feature enforces a basename allowlist, pre-patch code only ran dol_sanitizePathName and did not strip shell metacharacters, so commands chained with '&' around an allowlisted basename pass the check and execute. Limiting factors: administrative authentication is mandatory, exploitation operates through the export feature path, resulting commands run only with the web server user's privileges (no scope change to other systems), and versions 24.0.0 and later apply dol_string_nospecial sanitization that removes | ; < > & + and blocks the technique. |
| Impact | This is a genuine but conditional risk that the signals consistently rate as important-not-urgent rather than a drop-everything emergency. The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N, VC:H/VI:H/VA:H) scores 8.6 (High) and correctly reflects the core limiter: PR:H means exploitation requires high privilege - specifically an authenticated Dolibarr administrator - so this is a post-authentication privilege-to-OS escalation, not an internet-facing unauthenticated RCE. Once that bar is met, attack complexity is low and impact is full (arbitrary command execution as the web server user). The vuln.today decision label is 'this_week', consistent with a serious issue carrying a non-trivial precondition. No EPSS score, no CISA KEV listing, and no confirmed public exploit code were supplied, so there is no evidence of active or at-scale exploitation; exploitation status is best read as no public exploit identified at time of analysis. The practical risk is therefore highest in multi-user Dolibarr deployments where 'administrator' is a shared or loosely governed role, or where an attacker can first phish/compromise an admin account - in those settings a merely-administrative actor converts into OS code execution and a host foothold. A single all-powerful admin with no other users gains comparatively little new capability. No signals conflict here; the main caveat is the absence of EPSS/KEV/PoC data, which limits confidence about real-world exploitation frequency. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | An attacker who already holds (or has phished/hijacked) a Dolibarr administrator session opens the database export tool and submits a crafted 'mysqldump' value that wraps an allowlisted command basename with '&'-chained shell commands, defeating the restrict_os_commands allowlist. When Dolibarr runs the backup, the injected commands execute as the web server user, giving the attacker arbitrary OS command execution on the host. No confirmed public exploit code was provided, though VulnCheck published an advisory and the vulnerable source lines are referenced. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Oct 26, 2026
Authenticated Dolibarr administrators can run arbitrary operating-system commands as the web server user through the database export tool (htdocs/admin/tools/export.php) in every release before 24.0.0, because the restrict_os_commands allowlist can be bypassed by injecting a crafted mysqldump value. The attacker must already hold administrator rights (CVSS 4.0 base 8.6; assessed CVSS 3.1 AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H) and exploitation is confined to the web server user's privileges, so there is no scope change to other systems; there is no CISA KEV entry and no public exploit identified at time of analysis, and the vendor rates the fix as this-week rather than emergency priority.
RemediationAI
Upgrade to Dolibarr ERP CRM 24.0.0 or later, which is the first release containing upstream commit e4c593e0f9f109dd708be0f1d62a51712d36823a; that change applies dol_string_nospecial with the blacklist |, ;, <, >, &, + to the mysqldump command value in htdocs/admin/tools/export.php both before and after the export/validation step, and is the vendor-released fix (patch status: available from vendor). Confirm the applied code by checking that both sanitization calls, not just dol_sanitizePathName, are present in the deployed export.php, since the pre-patch allowlist enforced by restrict_os_commands is demonstrably insufficient on its own. The published references - the commit above, the pre-fix source at https://github.com/Dolibarr/dolibarr/blob/23.0.3/htdocs/admin/tools/export.php#L129-L154 and https://github.com/Dolibarr/dolibarr/blob/23.0.3/htdocs/core/class/utils.class.php#L322-L327, and the VulnCheck advisory at https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/dolibarr-erp-crm-before-24.0.0-os-command-injection-via-mysqldump-parameter - do not document a supported configuration workaround, so no alternative to upgrading is stated here; note that exploitation requires administrator credentials and yields only web server user privileges, which bounds but does not eliminate the exposure for installations that cannot patch immediately.

Technical ContextAI · show details
Dolibarr is a PHP-based ERP/CRM suite whose administrative database backup page builds a shell command around a configurable mysqldump executable path. The application ships a restrict_os_commands feature intended to constrain which binaries may be invoked, validating the command by its basename. Before the fix, the value was only passed through dol_sanitizePathName, which normalises path characters but does not remove shell metacharacters, so an administrator could wrap an allowlisted basename with '&' separators and have the extra commands interpreted by the shell - a classic CWE-78 improper neutralization of special elements in an OS command. The upstream commit e4c593e0f9f109dd708be0f1d62a51712d36823a closes this by applying dol_string_nospecial with a character blacklist of |, ;, <, >, & and + to the command value, and it adds the same sanitization a second time later in the export flow (around line 178 of export.php), covering both the validation and execution code paths. Because the 4.0 vector carries AT:N and S:U, the flaw is neither attack-path dependent nor scope-changing; the practical ceiling of the impact is full confidentiality, integrity and availability loss within the Dolibarr host under the web server account.

DescriptionCVE.org
Dolibarr ERP CRM before 24.0.0 contains an OS command injection vulnerability in htdocs/admin/tools/export.php that lets authenticated administrators bypass the restrict_os_commands allowlist. Attackers can submit a mysqldump value chaining commands with & characters around an allowlisted basename to execute operating system commands as the web server user.
Executive ViewAI
CVE-2026-116219 is a high-severity vulnerability in Dolibarr ERP/CRM that permits authenticated administrators to execute arbitrary operating system commands as the web server user via the database export tool. Although exploitation requires existing administrative access, the potential for full compromise of the web server and its data means leadership should prioritize remediation. No active exploitation has been observed, but the availability of a patch warrants immediate action.
