Network-reachable tRPC endpoint, low complexity, requires only low-priv authenticated org member (PR:L); container-root RCE plus docker.sock host pivot crosses trust boundary (S:C) with full C/I/A.

Dokploy is a free, self-hostable Platform as a Service (PaaS). Prior to 0.29.13, the patch.readRepoDirectories tRPC procedure passes the user-controlled repoPath value from apps/dokploy/server/api/routers/patch.ts into a shell command in packages/server/src/services/patch-repo.ts without safe argument quoting. An authenticated organization member with service:read permission can inject shell metacharacters into repoPath and execute arbitrary commands through child_process.exec as root in the Dokploy container. The supplied service identifier is used only to resolve the server and does not constrain repoPath. Because the standard deployment mounts /var/run/docker.sock, container-root command execution can be used to control Docker and compromise the host and its managed applications. This issue is fixed in version 0.29.13.

AnalysisAI
Command injection in Dokploy before 0.29.13 lets an authenticated organization member with service:read permission execute arbitrary commands as root inside the Dokploy container by injecting shell metacharacters into the repoPath parameter of the patch.readRepoDirectories tRPC procedure. Because the standard deployment mounts /var/run/docker.sock, successful exploitation can pivot to control Docker and compromise the host and its managed applications; the vendor fix is available in 0.29.13, and no public exploit identified at time of analysis. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Requires an authenticated account that is a member of the target Dokploy organization holding the service:read permission (low privilege) - the supplied service identifier only resolves which server is used and does NOT constrain repoPath, so any service:read holder can inject. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a genuine high-priority vulnerability, not a CVSS-inflated one. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade to Dokploy 0.29.13 or later, which contains the vendor-released patch (release https://github.com/Dokploy/dokploy/releases/tag/v0.29.13; advisory https://github.com/Dokploy/dokploy/security/advisories/GHSA-56g6-wjr4-5q7p; fix commit https://github.com/Dokploy/dokploy/commit/16b5b7293f9883327a89c69fcb6e5718767b064a). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours, inventory every Dokploy instance and record its exact version, identify all accounts holding the service:read permission and downgrade or disable any that are not strictly required, restrict network reachability of Dokploy's tRPC/management interface to trusted administrative networks or VPN only, and review Dokploy and container logs for calls to patch.readRepoDirectories with suspicious shell metacharacters in the repoPath parameter. …
