AC:H because the attacker must first obtain the stored hash (a substantial precondition mapping to 4.0's AT:P); PR:N as the login endpoint itself needs no auth; C/I/A:H since any account including admin is takeable.

WWBN AVideo through 29.0 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability where the stored password hash is accepted as a valid login credential through two independent code paths in loginFromRequest() and encryptPasswordVerify(). Attackers who obtain the stored users.password hash value can authenticate as any user by submitting the hash directly to login endpoints, completely bypassing password verification.

AnalysisAI
Authentication bypass in WWBN AVideo through 29.0 allows remote, unauthenticated attackers to log in as any user by submitting the victim's stored password hash directly to the login endpoints, completely circumventing password verification. The flaw exists in two independent code paths (loginFromRequest() and encryptPasswordVerify()) and requires prior possession of the users.password hash value-obtained through a separate compromise such as SQL injection, a leaked database backup, or insider access-making it a post-compromise pass-the-hash primitive rather than an initial-access vulnerability. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | The decisive prerequisite is prior possession of the victim's stored users.password hash value from the AVideo database - the bypass lets that raw hash be submitted directly to the login endpoints as if it were the password (via loginFromRequest() and encryptPasswordVerify()). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a high-CVSS-4.0 (9.2) authentication bypass, but the real-world risk is materially lower than the headline score because exploitation is fundamentally a post-compromise, pass-the-hash primitive. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patch with a specific fix version is identified in the available intelligence; administrators should monitor the vendor advisory (GHSA-fq38-jp6c-q4cx) and the VulnCheck advisory for an update and apply it immediately upon release. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours, inventory all WWBN AVideo instances, confirm any running version 29.0 or earlier, and immediately remove internet exposure by placing the application behind a VPN or IP allowlist; rotate passwords and stored password hashes for all accounts, especially administrators, and review authentication logs for suspicious logins that submit password-hash values. …
