DescriptionCVE.org

SiYuan before v3.8.2 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in Bazaar package cards where the iconURL metadata is inserted directly into HTML img src attributes without escaping. Attackers can inject malicious URLs with event handlers that execute JavaScript in the authenticated SiYuan origin when users view Bazaar listings, enabling API requests and application state manipulation.

AnalysisAI

Stored cross-site scripting in SiYuan's Bazaar marketplace component (all versions before 3.8.2) allows an attacker to publish a package with a crafted iconURL containing JavaScript event handlers that execute in the authenticated user's SiYuan origin when Bazaar listing cards are rendered. The root flaw is unsanitized insertion of iconURL package metadata directly into HTML img src attributes, enabling injected event handlers such as onerror to fire arbitrary JavaScript within the victim's session. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation The attacker must be able to publish a package to the SiYuan Bazaar community marketplace with a crafted iconURL value - this likely requires a GitHub account or equivalent Bazaar publishing credential, and is subject to any platform-level moderation in place. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 4.0 score of 7.4 with AT:P and UI:A correctly captures the key exploitability constraints: the attacker must successfully publish a malicious package to the Bazaar marketplace, and the victim must actively navigate to and render Bazaar listings - neither step is passive. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Upgrade to SiYuan v3.8.2 or any later release, which resolves the stored XSS by properly escaping or sanitizing the iconURL metadata field before inserting it into HTML attributes. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
