4DescriptionCVE.org
Snipe-IT before 8.7.0 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability in Livewire components that enforce authorization only at the route level, not within component lifecycle methods. Attackers with a valid authenticated session can replay signed component snapshots via POST /livewire/update to invoke protected methods and escalate privileges, including creating OAuth clients, minting personal access tokens, and accessing sensitive admin data.
AnalysisAI
Privilege escalation in Snipe-IT before 8.7.0 allows any authenticated user to bypass authorization controls by replaying signed Livewire component snapshots directly against the /livewire/update endpoint. Because authorization is enforced only at the HTTP route layer and not within Livewire component lifecycle methods, a low-privilege session holder can invoke protected admin operations including creating OAuth clients, minting personal access tokens, and reading sensitive administrative data. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires a valid authenticated session at any privilege level - unauthenticated access is insufficient. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 7.4 with vector AV:N/AC:H/AT:P/PR:L/UI:P reflects that exploitation requires a valid authenticated session and meaningful complexity in understanding and crafting signed Livewire snapshots. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade Snipe-IT to version 8.7.0 or later immediately; this release adds authorization enforcement within Livewire component lifecycle methods rather than relying solely on route-level guards. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
