3DescriptionCVE.org
In Eclipse Che versions 7.79.0 through 7.121.0, the dashboard backend's POST /dashboard/api/data/resolver endpoint passes a caller-supplied URL directly to an outbound HTTP GET request with no host filtering. An authenticated user can exploit this server-side request forgery (SSRF) to read responses from internal network addresses, including the cloud instance metadata service (169.254.169.254), loopback interfaces, RFC-1918 private ranges, and in-cluster Kubernetes services. The operator-configured allowlist (spec.devEnvironments.allowedSources.urls) is not consulted. The vulnerability is fixed in version 7.122.0, which adds private-address blocking, IPv4-mapped IPv6 bypass prevention, operator allowlist enforcement, and disables HTTP redirects on the outbound request.
AnalysisAI
Server-side request forgery in Eclipse Che dashboard backend (versions 7.79.0-7.121.0) enables any authenticated user to make the backend issue arbitrary outbound HTTP GET requests to internal network targets, including the cloud instance metadata service at 169.254.169.254, loopback interfaces, RFC-1918 ranges, and in-cluster Kubernetes service endpoints. The POST /dashboard/api/data/resolver endpoint forwards caller-supplied URLs with no host validation and without consulting the operator-configured allowlist (spec.devEnvironments.allowedSources.urls). …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires a valid, authenticated Eclipse Che user session with at minimum low-privilege access (consistent with PR:L in the CVSS 4.0 vector). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 6.3 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L, SC:H) captures the essential risk profile: exploitation requires a valid authenticated session (PR:L), but the subsequent-system confidentiality impact is High because the cloud instance metadata service (IMDS) at 169.254.169.254 typically exposes IAM role credentials or Kubernetes service account tokens, which can be used for horizontal and vertical privilege escalation far beyond the Eclipse Che instance itself. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade Eclipse Che to version 7.122.0 or later; this is the vendor-released patch that adds private-address blocking, IPv4-mapped IPv6 bypass prevention, allowlist enforcement, and disables HTTP redirect following on the data resolver endpoint. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
