On-path MITM required for exploitation (AV:A); TLS fully disabled makes attack trivial once positioned (AC:L); app must be running and fetching config (UI:R); full C/I/A impact via IPC bridge RCE.

DescriptionCVE.org

Bilibili Desktop through 1.18.0 disables TLS certificate verification process-wide and executes unsigned remote JavaScript configuration without integrity checks. An attacker in an on-path network position can intercept configuration fetches, inject arbitrary JavaScript executed in the renderer with access to the privileged IPC bridge, and execute system commands or steal login credentials.

AnalysisAI

Bilibili Desktop through v1.18.0 achieves full system command execution and credential theft by combining two design-level failures: TLS certificate verification is disabled process-wide (accepting any certificate, including attacker-controlled), and remote JavaScript configuration is fetched and executed without code-signing or integrity validation. Any on-path network adversary - via rogue Wi-Fi, ARP spoofing, or a compromised gateway - can intercept these fetches, present a forged certificate, and inject arbitrary JavaScript that runs in the app's renderer context with direct access to the privileged IPC bridge, enabling OS-level command execution or session-token exfiltration. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires the attacker to hold an on-path network position between the target host and Bilibili's configuration servers - achievable via a rogue Wi-Fi access point, ARP cache poisoning on a shared LAN, or a compromised upstream router. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The provided CVSS 3.1 vector AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H scoring 8.0 is well-calibrated. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation No vendor-released patch has been identified at time of analysis; users should monitor the official download page (https://app.bilibili.com/) and the researcher advisory (https://github.com/LeoWSY-hashblue/bilibili-desktop-tls-disabled-rce/blob/main/advisory.md) for a patched release that re-enables TLS verification and adds JavaScript configuration integrity checks. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
