DescriptionCVE.org

Filament is a collection of full-stack components for accelerated Laravel development. From 4.0.0 until 4.12.5 and 5.7.5, packages/panels/src/Auth/Pages/Login.php presents the multi-factor authentication challenge before evaluating canAccessPanel(). For an account that canAccessPanel() denies, submitting the correct password renders the MFA challenge while an incorrect password returns the generic authentication failure, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to confirm whether a candidate password is valid for that account. When email-based MFA is configured, the correct-password path also sends a login code to the account holder. The issue applies only to accounts that have MFA enabled and are denied panel access. Authentication is not bypassed because canAccessPanel() still runs after the challenge, and no session is created. This issue is fixed in versions 4.12.5 and 5.7.5.

AnalysisAI

Password oracle in Filament's login flow (packages/panels/src/Auth/Pages/Login.php) allows unauthenticated remote attackers to confirm whether a guessed credential is valid for accounts that have MFA enabled but are denied panel access via canAccessPanel(). The observable discrepancy - a MFA challenge on a correct password versus a generic failure on an incorrect one - leaks credential validity without granting any session or panel access. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Three simultaneous conditions must hold on the target account: (1) MFA must be enabled for the account, (2) canAccessPanel() must return false for that account (the account exists but is explicitly denied panel access), and (3) the Filament panels package must be version 4.0.0-4.12.4 or 5.0.0-5.7.4. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The provided CVSS 3.7 (AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N) is consistent with this analysis. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Vendor-released patches are available: upgrade to Filament v4.12.5 (for the v4 branch) or v5.7.5 (for the v5 branch), confirmed by GitHub release tags at https://github.com/filamentphp/filament/releases/tag/v4.12.5 and https://github.com/filamentphp/filament/releases/tag/v5.7.5, and the security advisory GHSA-xwpv-pqxp-5v36. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
