PR:L reflects that rogue SNMP device enrollment may require only network positioning rather than LibreNMS credentials; S:C captures XSS scope change to the admin browser context.

1DescriptionCVE.org
LibreNMS through 26.2.0 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in legacy PHP template pages that render unescaped SNMP-sourced data fields including BGP peer descriptions, VRF names, process information, and SLA tags. Attackers with device management access or network access to enroll a rogue SNMP device can inject malicious JavaScript that executes when admins view affected routing and device pages, enabling credential theft and CSRF token exfiltration.
AnalysisAI
Stored cross-site scripting in LibreNMS through 26.2.0 enables attackers to inject persistent malicious JavaScript via SNMP-sourced data fields - including BGP peer descriptions, VRF names, process data, and SLA tags - that execute in the context of authenticated administrators browsing legacy PHP routing and device pages. The dual attack path (device management access within LibreNMS, or network-level enrollment of a rogue SNMP device) means exploitation is not strictly confined to privileged insider accounts. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires one of two preconditions: (1) the attacker holds a device management role within LibreNMS with sufficient privileges to configure or enroll SNMP-polled devices, allowing direct injection of malicious data into BGP peer descriptions, VRF names, process fields, or SLA tags; or (2) the attacker has network-level access to a segment LibreNMS monitors and can deploy a rogue SNMP-speaking host whose field values LibreNMS polls and stores. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 5.8 (Medium) is shaped primarily by high attack complexity (AC:H) and high privilege requirements (PR:H), which temper what would otherwise be a more severe confidentiality impact (VC:H). … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade LibreNMS to a version beyond 26.2.0 per the vendor security advisory at https://github.com/librenms/librenms/security/advisories/GHSA-v5jp-f342-234h; the exact patched release version is not confirmed in available data, so consult the advisory directly before deploying. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
