Attacker needs a bazaar publishing account (PR:L) and victim must trigger uninstall/unlock (UI:R); XSS crossing into the app's browser context justifies S:C with high C/I and low A.

DescriptionCVE.org

SiYuan before v3.8.1 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in confirmDialog() where unescaped package names and notebook names are interpolated directly into innerHTML assignments. Attackers can submit malicious bazaar packages with HTML/script payloads in the name field that execute in users' browsers when uninstalling packages or unlocking encrypted notebooks.

AnalysisAI

Stored cross-site scripting in SiYuan before v3.8.1 lets a low-privileged attacker persist HTML/script payloads in bazaar package names and notebook names, which the confirmDialog() function interpolates unescaped into innerHTML. The script executes in a victim's browser session when they uninstall a malicious package or unlock an encrypted notebook, enabling session-context takeover of the note-taking application. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires the attacker to control a package name in SiYuan's bazaar marketplace (or a notebook name), matching PR:L - a submission/publishing capability rather than anonymous access. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The input assigns CVSS 4.0 base 9.3 (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P/VC:H/VI:H/VA:L/SC:H/SI:H/SA:L). … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Vendor-released patch: upgrade to SiYuan v3.8.1 or later, which is the primary and complete fix per advisory GHSA-hvwp-43j9-4xgf (https://github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/security/advisories/GHSA-hvwp-43j9-4xgf). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
