DescriptionCVE.org

Rodauth before 2.47.0 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability in the jwt_refresh route that issues new JWT access tokens without requiring a refresh token. Attackers can present an access token to the refresh route via non-POST methods to obtain a new valid access token, enabling indefinite account access with temporary token possession.

AnalysisAI

JWT access token indefinite renewal in Rodauth before 2.47.0 allows an attacker who possesses a valid access token to bypass the refresh token requirement entirely. By sending a non-POST HTTP request to the jwt_refresh route, the library still issues a new valid JWT access token without validating a refresh token, enabling perpetual session extension. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation The attacker must possess at least one valid JWT access token for the target account - the bypass does not work without an existing token, eliminating unauthenticated exploitation. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 4.0 base score of 5.1 (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N) reflects a network-reachable but limited-impact vulnerability. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Upgrade to Rodauth 2.47.0 or later, which resolves the issue by stripping the Authorization response header from non-POST and non-JSON-accepting requests to JWT routes. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Threat intelligence, references, and detailed analysis are available after sign-in.
