DescriptionCVE.org

Rybbit before 2.7.0 contains a CORS misconfiguration vulnerability that allows attackers to bypass origin restrictions by reflecting any request origin in Access-Control-Allow-Origin responses while credentials are enabled. Attackers can issue credentialed cross-origin requests from any website to read analytics data, account information, and perform authenticated state-changing operations as the victim user.

AnalysisAI

CORS misconfiguration in Rybbit before 2.7.0 allows any attacker-controlled website to issue credentialed cross-origin requests to the Rybbit analytics server, because the server unconditionally reflects the request's Origin header in Access-Control-Allow-Origin while simultaneously enabling Access-Control-Allow-Credentials. Authenticated victims who visit a malicious page expose their analytics data, account information, and permit the attacker's script to perform state-changing API operations on their behalf. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires three concurrent conditions: (1) the target Rybbit instance is running a version prior to 2.7.0 with the default CORS configuration - no non-default setup is needed, the flaw is present in all pre-2.7.0 deployments; (2) the victim holds an active authenticated browser session to that Rybbit instance; and (3) the victim's browser can reach the Rybbit server origin from the attacker's page (i.e., the server is publicly accessible or the victim is on a network with access to an internal deployment). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:P/VC:H/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N, score 8.6) accurately represents the threat: the exploit is network-reachable, requires no attacker privileges, involves no special attack conditions, and delivers high confidentiality and integrity impact against the vulnerable system. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Upgrade Rybbit to version 2.7.0 or later, which applies the fix from commit 6f1039bdd3328a84d6700031bc0ce4714020e2f9 (https://github.com/rybbit-io/rybbit/commit/6f1039bdd3328a84d6700031bc0ce4714020e2f9). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours: Audit all Rybbit instances in your environment to identify versions below 2.7.0 and determine user impact scope; notify stakeholders of the vulnerability and timeline for patching. …
