Authenticated MCP user directly invokes the vulnerable tool without requiring another party's action (PR:L, UI:N); SSRF yields only limited internal-resource read (C:L) with no integrity or availability impact.

DescriptionCVE.org

A vulnerability was determined in cyberchitta scrapling-fetch-mcp up to 0.2.2. The impacted element is the function s_fetch_page/s_fetch_pattern of the file src/scrapling_fetch_mcp/_fetcher.py. Executing a manipulation can lead to server-side request forgery. The attack can be launched remotely. Upgrading to version 0.2.3 is sufficient to resolve this issue. This patch is called 9f6f34e92c55c3d95566ad9c62aca7327d24533a. Upgrading the affected component is advised.

AnalysisAI

Server-side request forgery in scrapling-fetch-mcp versions through 0.2.2 allows an authenticated user of an MCP-enabled AI assistant to supply arbitrary URL schemes - such as file://, gopher://, or dict:// - to the s_fetch_page and s_fetch_pattern tool functions, causing the server to issue requests to internal or local resources on behalf of the attacker. The root cause is the absence of any URL scheme validation before passing user-controlled input to the underlying browse_url call in _fetcher.py. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires the attacker to hold authenticated, low-privilege access to an AI assistant or agent framework that has scrapling-fetch-mcp configured and active as an MCP tool (consistent with PR:L in the CVSS vector). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N) scores 5.1 (Medium), correctly capturing that exploitation requires low-privilege authenticated access to the MCP-enabled system and yields only limited confidentiality exposure - the server can be made to read internal resources, but there is no integrity or availability impact. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Upgrade scrapling-fetch-mcp to version 0.2.3, which resolves the issue via commit 9f6f34e92c55c3d95566ad9c62aca7327d24533a (https://github.com/cyberchitta/scrapling-fetch-mcp/commit/9f6f34e92c55c3d95566ad9c62aca7327d24533a). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
