2DescriptionCVE.org
GFI Exinda AI before 7.6.5 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the diagnostic file deletion handler. The unlink_or_email_file() function accepts parameters prefixed with v_file_row_ and appends their values directly to a base directory path without sanitizing for directory traversal sequences. An authenticated attacker with Admin privileges can delete arbitrary files from the system in the context of root.
AnalysisAI
Arbitrary root-level file deletion in GFI Exinda AI before 7.6.5 is possible through a path traversal flaw in the diagnostic file deletion handler. The unlink_or_email_file() function appends user-controlled parameter values (prefixed v_file_row_) directly to a base directory path without sanitizing for ../ sequences, allowing any file on the filesystem to be targeted. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires an authenticated session with Admin-level privileges on GFI Exinda AI (PR:H per CVSS vector). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 vector AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:H/VA:H/SA:N scores 7.0, accurately reflecting that exploitation is network-reachable and requires no complexity but demands Admin-level credentials - a genuine barrier that limits the exposed population to privileged accounts. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade GFI Exinda AI to version 7.6.5 or later using the vendor release documentation at https://gfi.ai/products-and-solutions/network-management-solutions/exinda-networkorchestrator/resources/documentation/product-releases. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
