CRITICAL 9.2

DescriptionCVE.org

SiYuan's development branch (endpoint introduced by commit 9b8e8956f, not present in v3.7.3 or master, patched in v3.7.4) contains a missing-authorization vulnerability in the /api/av/getAttributeViewSearchTarget endpoint. The route is registered with CheckAuth only and performs no authorization checks (no CheckReadonly, no publish-access or encrypted-notebook gating). Given a database identifier taken from a published page and a keyword, an anonymous reader can query the endpoint to retrieve matching database row content, including rows that publish filters (FilterAttributeViewByPublishAccess) would otherwise withhold. No released stable version is affected.

AnalysisAI

Missing authorization in SiYuan's /api/av/getAttributeViewSearchTarget endpoint allows an anonymous reader to retrieve database (attribute view) row content that publish-access filtering should hide. The affected route was added by commit 9b8e8956f and exists only in the development branch - it is absent from v3.7.3 and master and was fixed in v3.7.4, so no released stable version is affected. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Requires that the target run a SiYuan build from the development branch containing commit 9b8e8956f (stable releases including v3.7.3, master, and v3.7.4 are not exploitable), that the SiYuan publish feature be in use so a page is anonymously reachable, and that the attacker obtain a valid attribute-view/database identifier - which is exposed via the published page itself. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 4.0 base score of 9.2 reflects a network-reachable, low-complexity, unauthenticated read (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N) with high confidentiality impact on a subsequent system (VC:H/SC:H) and no integrity or availability impact - an information-disclosure issue, not code execution. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario An operator runs a dev-branch SiYuan instance with a publicly published page that references an attribute-view database. An anonymous visitor reads the database identifier exposed on the published page, then sends a request to /api/av/getAttributeViewSearchTarget with that ID and a keyword, and receives back matching database rows - including unpublished rows the publish filter was meant to withhold. …
Remediation Vendor-released patch: SiYuan v3.7.4 - upgrade any development-branch build to v3.7.4 or run a released stable version (v3.7.3 or earlier and master are unaffected), per advisory GHSA-9cqf-hhrq-7v45 (https://github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/security/advisories/GHSA-9cqf-hhrq-7v45). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours, verify whether your organization uses SiYuan built from development branch source code (as opposed to released versions); if so, immediately isolate those instances from untrusted networks. …
