2DescriptionCVE.org
Next AI Draw.io through 0.4.16 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability in the POST /api/parse-url endpoint due to hostname validation that only checks string patterns without DNS resolution. Unauthenticated attackers can supply hostnames that bypass string validation but resolve to internal addresses, allowing them to reach arbitrary internal HTTP services and exfiltrate responses including cloud metadata.
AnalysisAI
Server-side request forgery in Next AI Draw.io through 0.4.16 enables unauthenticated remote attackers to reach arbitrary internal HTTP services by exploiting a hostname validation bypass in the POST /api/parse-url endpoint. The validator inspects hostnames as string patterns only - without DNS resolution - allowing attackers to supply hostnames that pass the string check yet resolve to internal addresses, including cloud metadata endpoints such as the AWS IMDSv1 service. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | The POST /api/parse-url endpoint must be network-reachable by the attacker; no authentication is required per CVSS PR:N. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 vector CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:H/SI:N/SA:N scores the vulnerable-system impact as nil and the subsequent-system confidentiality impact as High, which accurately reflects the SSRF threat model: the vulnerable application itself is not directly compromised, but downstream internal systems - most critically cloud instance metadata services - are exposed. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | An unauthenticated attacker sends a POST request to /api/parse-url with a payload hostname that bypasses the string-pattern denylist - for example, a domain under the attacker's control that resolves to 169.254.169.254 (AWS IMDSv1). The server fetches the attacker-specified URL, resolves it to the internal metadata address, and returns the response body (including IAM credentials) to the attacker. … |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patched version has been independently confirmed at time of analysis - the fix reference points to a GitHub issue (https://github.com/DayuanJiang/next-ai-draw-io/issues/918) rather than a tagged release. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
