2DescriptionCVE.org
PhotoPrism before 260601-a7d098548 contains a broken access control vulnerability that allows authenticated non-admin users to modify other users' profile information by sending requests to arbitrary user endpoints. Attackers can exploit the missing session-to-user identifier validation in the PUT users API endpoint to overwrite another user's profile details without authorization.
AnalysisAI
{uid} API endpoint allows any authenticated non-admin user to overwrite another user's profile information by substituting an arbitrary user identifier in the request path. Affected are all PhotoPrism deployments running versions prior to 260601-a7d098548 that host multiple user accounts. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires a valid authenticated session as any non-admin user on a PhotoPrism instance configured with multiple user accounts. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 5.3 with vector AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N accurately characterizes the moderate risk profile. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | An attacker with a valid non-admin PhotoPrism account enumerates or guesses the UID of another registered user (e.g., from profile pages or API responses), then issues a crafted PUT request to /api/v1/users/{target_uid} with modified profile fields. Because the server does not validate that the session owner matches the target UID, the request succeeds and overwrites the victim's profile data. … |
| Remediation | Upgrade PhotoPrism to version 260601-a7d098548 or later, available at https://github.com/photoprism/photoprism/releases/tag/260601-a7d098548; this is the primary and recommended fix. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
