OTRS Community Edition contains an authenticated OS command injection vulnerability in the PGP encryption module that allows administrators to execute arbitrary operating-system commands by supplying crafted values for the PGP binary path and command options. Administrator-supplied configuration values are concatenated without sanitization into a shell command, enabling arbitrary command execution as the web server process user during normal ticket operations after the malicious configuration is deployed.
AnalysisAI
OS command injection in OTRS Community Edition's PGP encryption module allows authenticated administrators to execute arbitrary operating-system commands by supplying crafted values for the PGP binary path and command options, which are concatenated unsanitized into a shell command invoked during normal ticket operations. Exploitation requires pre-existing administrator-level access to the OTRS admin panel and is triggered automatically once a malicious configuration is saved and a PGP-involving ticket operation occurs. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires valid OTRS administrator-level credentials - full admin access, not merely an agent or customer account. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 8.6 (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H) reflects a high-severity vulnerability that is nonetheless gated behind full administrator authentication - the PR:H requirement materially reduces opportunistic exploitation risk compared to unauthenticated or low-privilege flaws of equivalent CVSS impact. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patch version has been identified in the available data. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
