2DescriptionCVE.org
Nagios Core before 4.5.13 and Nagios XI before 2026R1.5 contains a CSRF vulnerability in cmd.cgi. When no Cookie header is present, the double-submit cookie protection can be bypassed by supplying matching NagFormId and nagFormId values in the POST body, allowing a cross-site request to execute Nagios commands as a currently authenticated user.
AnalysisAI
Cross-site request forgery in Nagios Core (before 4.5.13) and Nagios XI (before 2026R1.5) allows an attacker to execute arbitrary Nagios commands on behalf of an authenticated user by exploiting a bypass in the double-submit cookie CSRF protection implemented in cmd.cgi. When the Cookie header is absent in a POST request, the server's CSRF check can be satisfied simply by supplying matching NagFormId and nagFormId values in the POST body - a condition entirely within the attacker's control. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | The victim must be currently authenticated to the Nagios web interface in the same browser session at the time the cross-site request is triggered - exploitation depends entirely on the victim holding an active Nagios session. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The provided CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:H/VA:N) scores at 6.9, reflecting a network-reachable, low-complexity attack requiring active user interaction but carrying high integrity impact. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade Nagios Core to version 4.5.13 or later, and Nagios XI to version 2026R1.5 or later, per the vendor advisory at https://www.nagios.com/security-disclosures/nagios-core/. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
