dataCycle is a data management system for centrally storing, managing, searching, finding, and distributing data. In dataCycle-CORE, the module handling core processing and framework rules, before and including version 25.07.3, any authenticated user can request arbitrary partials or helper-backed render functions through /remote_render. The endpoint does not restrict which partial can be rendered and does not apply controller-specific authorization before rendering the selected view. This enables a low-privileged user to retrieve server-side rendered admin content that is otherwise hidden by navigation and route checks. On the test instance, a Standard user was able to retrieve the PostgreSQL admin dashboard stats even though /admin itself redirected away. This is patched in 26.06.08.
AnalysisAI
Broken authorization in dataCycle-CORE (versions up to and including 25.07.3) lets any authenticated low-privileged user reach server-side rendered admin content via the /remote_render endpoint, which renders arbitrary partials and helper-backed views without enforcing controller-specific authorization. On a test instance a Standard user retrieved the PostgreSQL admin dashboard statistics even though direct access to /admin redirected the user away, confirming an information-disclosure impact. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | The attacker must hold a valid authenticated session as any user, including a low-privileged Standard user - this is the primary limiting factor (the endpoint is not reachable pre-authentication despite the published PR:N metric). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The published CVSS 3.1 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N, base 7.5) rates this a network, no-privilege, confidentiality-only issue. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | A low-privileged Standard user logs into dataCycle, then sends a request to /remote_render specifying an admin-only partial or helper-backed render function (for example the PostgreSQL admin dashboard view). The server renders and returns the admin content despite /admin itself redirecting the user away, disclosing information the user should not see. … |
| Remediation | Vendor-released patch: upgrade dataCycle-CORE to version 26.06.08, which enforces authorization before rendering via /remote_render. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours: inventory all dataCycle-CORE deployments, identify instances running version 25.07.3 or earlier, and implement network-level restrictions on the /remote_render endpoint if immediate patching is not feasible. …
