DescriptionCVE.org

The Formidable Charts plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 2.0.1 via the 'frm_graph' parameter. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. Successful exploitation requires Formidable Forms Lite, Formidable Forms Pro, and Formidable Charts to be active and requires the wp-content/uploads/frm-charts/ directory to exist, normally after an image-format chart is rendered.

AnalysisAI

Directory traversal in Formidable Charts (WordPress plugin, versions up to and including 2.0.1) allows unauthenticated network attackers to read arbitrary server-side files via the unsanitized frm_graph parameter, exposing sensitive data such as WordPress configuration credentials. Exploitation requires three co-active plugins and a pre-existing image-chart uploads directory, making this a targeted but credible risk for active users of the full Formidable Forms and Charts stack. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires three specific WordPress plugins to be simultaneously active: Formidable Forms Lite, Formidable Forms Pro, and Formidable Charts at version 2.0.1 or earlier. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 7.5 score reflects the network-accessible, unauthenticated nature of the flaw with high confidentiality impact - a significant signal, though real-world risk is moderated by the multi-plugin prerequisite stack (Formidable Forms Lite, Pro, and Charts must all be active, and the frm-charts upload directory must exist on the server). … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Upgrade Formidable Charts to version 2.0.2 or later, as documented in the official Formidable Forms changelog at https://formidableforms.com/changelog/charts-2-0-2/. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours, identify all WordPress sites running Formidable Charts versions 2.0.1 or earlier and assess whether they have the required co-active plugins (three Formidable plugins) and pre-existing image-chart uploads directory to determine exposure. …
