DescriptionNVD

A maliciously crafted IFC file, when parsed through certain Autodesk products, can trigger an Uncontrolled Recursion vulnerability. A malicious actor may leverage this vulnerability to cause the application to terminate unexpectedly, resulting in a denial-of-service. Exploitation requires a user to open a specially crafted IFC file.

AnalysisAI

Uncontrolled recursion in Autodesk Shared Components' IFC file parser allows a denial-of-service condition across multiple Autodesk products when a user opens a maliciously crafted IFC file. The recursive processing of specially structured IFC data causes stack exhaustion, terminating the application unexpectedly. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation The victim must actively open a specially crafted IFC file using an affected Autodesk product that invokes the vulnerable shared component parser - this user interaction (UI:R) is a hard prerequisite. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 5.5 Medium score is consistent with the DoS-only impact profile: the vector AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H correctly reflects that exploitation requires the victim to open a file locally, with no confidentiality or integrity impact. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Vendor-released patch is available per Autodesk Security Advisory ADSK-SA-2026-0015 (https://www.autodesk.com/trust/security-advisories/adsk-sa-2026-0015). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
