Authenticated component submission (PR:L) yields root code execution crossing into cloud metadata and internal services (S:C), giving full C/I/A; A raised to H versus vendor's A:N because root RCE can disrupt the service.

DescriptionNVD

IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.10.0 can allow attackers to execute arbitrary Python code with root privileges (UID=0) on the Langflow server by submitting components containing socket or urllib imports. This enables: (1) AWS credential theft via IMDSv1 SSRF with full IAM role permissions, (2) arbitrary file exfiltration from the container filesystem, and (3) lateral movement to internal services (PostgreSQL, Redis) within the Docker network. The scanner incorrectly returns "validated": true, providing a false security signal.

AnalysisAI

Server-side request forgery and root-level code execution in IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.10.0 lets an authenticated user smuggle arbitrary Python through submitted flow components. Because the component validation scanner fails to block socket and urllib imports yet still returns "validated": true, attackers run code as UID=0 to steal AWS credentials via IMDSv1 SSRF, exfiltrate container files, and pivot to internal PostgreSQL and Redis services. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Requires an authenticated Langflow user (CVSS PR:L) who can submit or edit flow components; the malicious component must include socket or urllib imports, which the flawed validator fails to reject. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The signals align toward genuine priority: CVSS 9.6 with AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C and a public gist-hosted exploit. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Upgrade to a Langflow release later than 1.10.0 that includes the corrected component scanner; consult the IBM advisory at https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7278919 for the exact fixed version, as the input does not state a specific patched build (patch available per vendor advisory; released patched version not independently confirmed here). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours: inventory all systems running IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0-1.10.0 using container registries and deployment tools; immediately restrict network access to isolate affected instances from Internet-facing traffic and block outbound connections to AWS metadata endpoint (169.254.169.254). …
