| Exploitation Conditions | Attacker must be able to create or edit a DB2 or MongoDB data source in DataEase (versions through 2.10.13). For the DB2 path specifically, the extraParams field must be EMPTY - that triggers the vulnerable branch where HOSTNAME/PORT/DATABASE are concatenated into the JDBC URL before the illegal-parameter filter runs, letting a crafted JDBC string in the HOSTNAME field slip through (the fix in 2.10.14 moves the filter to run on the final URL in all branches). Limiting factors: realistically requires authenticated access to the datasource configuration UI/API (despite the CVSS PR:N claim), the DB2 empty-extraParams precondition (reflected as AT:P in the vector), and an affected version ≤2.10.13; the MongoDB handler is affected via the analogous hostName URL-type path. No workaround exists other than upgrading. |
| Impact | This is a genuine, patch-worthy vulnerability but sits below the top tier of urgency. The vendor-supplied CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N) scores 8.2 (HIGH) and notably rates impact as integrity-only (VC:N/VI:H/VA:N), which undercuts the usual 'JDBC injection = full RCE' assumption - yet the CWE-502 (deserialization) classification implies code-execution potential that the integrity-only scoring does not fully capture; these two signals conflict and the real impact ceiling should be verified against the GHSA advisory. No EPSS score, CISA KEV listing, or POC flag was provided, so there is no evidence of active exploitation - status is 'no public exploit identified at time of analysis.' However, this flaw is explicitly a BYPASS of the previously patched CVE-2025-57773 and CVE-2025-58045, meaning the underlying JDBC-injection technique and prior public research already exist, lowering the barrier to weaponization relative to a brand-new bug. A second conflict: the CVSS vector states PR:N (unauthenticated), but creating/editing a DB2 or MongoDB data source is normally an authenticated, privileged console function - this discrepancy should be verified with the vendor, as it materially changes real-world exposure. Net: prioritize patching for internet-exposed DataEase instances, but this is not a mass-exploitation 'patch tonight' emergency on current evidence. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | An attacker with access to the DataEase data-source configuration creates a DB2 (or MongoDB) data source, leaving the extraParams field empty so the HOSTNAME/PORT/DATABASE values are concatenated straight into the JDBC URL without illegal-parameter filtering. They inject a malicious JDBC connection string into the HOSTNAME field - reintroducing the attack blocked by the earlier CVE-2025-57773/58045 patches - to reach dangerous JDBC/driver properties that enable deserialization. No public exploit is identified at time of analysis, but because this is a documented bypass of two prior patches the technique is effectively already in the open. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Oct 19, 2026
JDBC URL injection in DataEase through 2.10.13 lets an attacker with the ability to create or edit a DB2 or MongoDB data source inject a crafted JDBC string into the HOSTNAME field, bypassing earlier fixes (CVE-2025-57773 and CVE-2025-58045) and potentially causing high confidentiality and integrity impact through deserialization-style JDBC attacks. The DB2 path is exploitable when the extraParams field is empty, while the MongoDB handler is affected via the analogous hostName URL-type path; in practice this requires authenticated access to the datasource configuration UI/API, even though the CVSS 4.0 vector claims PR:N. No public exploit code or confirmed active exploitation is identified at time of analysis, and the issue is fixed in 2.10.14.
RemediationAI
Upgrade DataEase to 2.10.14 or later; this is the vendor-released patch and the advisory states no known workarounds exist. The fix applies the illegal-parameter filter to the final JDBC URL in every branch, so the empty-extraParams bypass is closed. If immediate upgrade is not possible, restrict the ability to create or edit DB2 and MongoDB data sources to trusted administrators only and review existing data source configurations for suspicious HOSTNAME values, but understand that this is only a compensating control with reduced administrative flexibility and does not remove the underlying vulnerability. Refer to the GitHub advisory (https://github.com/dataease/dataease/security/advisories/GHSA-x4x9-mjcf-99r9) and patch commit (https://github.com/dataease/dataease/commit/bb320e42bf2cf862b9c4b438c1517547b53ed67b).

Technical ContextAI · show details
DataEase is a Java-based data visualization and analytics platform that stores external data source connection details, including JDBC URLs. The vulnerable code builds DB2 JDBC URLs by concatenating HOSTNAME, PORT, DATABASE, and optional EXTRA_PARAMS; before the fix, the illegal-parameter blocklist was only applied in the branch that included EXTRA_PARAMS, so an empty extraParams field skipped validation entirely and allowed a malicious JDBC string in HOSTNAME to reach the DB2 driver. The MongoDB handler has an analogous flaw in its hostName URL-type path. CWE-502 (Deserialization of Untrusted Data) captures the root-cause class: dangerous JDBC URL parameters can trigger driver-side deserialization or class loading, and the blocklist was meant to stop such parameters. The 2.10.14 commit moves the illegal-parameter check to run against the final JDBC URL in all branches and adds URL-decoding checks in the SQL Server handler, closing the control-flow bypass. The vendor CVSS 4.0 vector scores 8.2, while the independent assessment applies CVSS 3.1 AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H because exploitation realistically requires datasource configuration access and, for DB2, the empty-extraParams precondition.

DescriptionCVE.org
DataEase is a data visualization and analytics platform. In DataEase versions through 2.10.13, a JDBC URL injection vulnerability exists in the DB2 and MongoDB data source configuration handlers. In the DB2 data source handler, when the extraParams field is empty, the HOSTNAME, PORT, and DATABASE values are directly concatenated into the JDBC URL without filtering illegal parameters. This allows an attacker to inject a malicious JDBC string into the HOSTNAME field to bypass previously patched vulnerabilities CVE-2025-57773 and CVE-2025-58045. The vulnerability is fixed in version 2.10.14. No known workarounds exist.
Executive ViewAI
DataEase deployments at or below 2.10.13 are exposed to a high-severity JDBC URL injection issue that could let users with data-source configuration privileges compromise the confidentiality and integrity of connected business data. The risk is concentrated in teams managing DB2 or MongoDB data sources through the DataEase UI/API, and successful abuse could undermine trust in reporting and data-access controls. Leadership should prioritize upgrading to 2.10.14 and tightening administrative access because the issue bypasses earlier fixes and affects a core integration function.
