CVE-2025-21743
HIGHCVSS VectorNVD
CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:H
Lifecycle Timeline
3DescriptionNVD
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usbnet: ipheth: fix possible overflow in DPE length check
Originally, it was possible for the DPE length check to overflow if wDatagramIndex + wDatagramLength > U16_MAX. This could lead to an OoB read.
Move the wDatagramIndex term to the other side of the inequality.
An existing condition ensures that wDatagramIndex < urb->actual_length.
AnalysisAI
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usbnet: ipheth: fix possible overflow in DPE length check Originally, it was possible for the DPE length check to overflow if. Rated high severity (CVSS 7.1), this vulnerability is low attack complexity. This Out-of-bounds Read vulnerability could allow attackers to read data from memory outside the intended buffer boundaries.
Technical ContextAI
This vulnerability is classified as Out-of-bounds Read (CWE-125), which allows attackers to read data from memory outside the intended buffer boundaries. RemediationAI
A vendor patch is available. Apply the latest security update as soon as possible. Validate array indices and buffer lengths. Use memory-safe languages. Enable AddressSanitizer during testing.
