Remote unauthenticated denial-of-service in INDI indiserver through 2.2.4.2 allows any attacker with TCP access to port 7624 to crash the daemon with a single malformed packet. The vulnerability stems from an unbounded sprintf() call writing XML error messages into a fixed 1024-byte stack buffer in MsgQueue.cpp - sending mismatched XML tags whose names exceed that boundary overflows the stack frame and terminates the process, immediately disconnecting all active astronomical instrument drivers and client sessions. No public exploit code has been identified at time of analysis and the vulnerability is not listed in the CISA KEV catalog, though the attack primitive is trivially constructible given the deterministic overflow path confirmed in the patch diff.
