MITRE ATT&CK
1 technique across 1 tactic: Privilege Escalation The technique list with ATT&CK links and the kill-chain view is part of the Basic plan and up. |
| Exploitation Conditions | Exploitation requires that the Aureus ERP blogs/Website plugin is deployed with a public customer-facing blog and that at least one unpublished/draft post exists; the attacker must know or guess that draft post's slug, which is the key limiting factor (reflected as AT:P in the vendor vector) since draft slugs are not publicly linked. No authentication is required (PR:N) and no user interaction is needed, and the flaw is present in default behavior of the customer post view page because PostResource omits the authorization check and ViewPost does not enforce is_published. Impact is strictly limited to read-only disclosure of draft blog post fields (title, content, image, tags, author, publish date) - no write access or system compromise. |
| Impact | This is a medium-severity information-disclosure issue, not a high-priority emergency. The provided CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N) scores 6.3 and correctly caps impact at confidentiality-Low with no integrity or availability effect - the only thing leaked is the content of unpublished draft blog posts (title, body, image, tags, author, publish date), not credentials, PII, or system data. The AT:P (attack-requirements present) metric reflects that the attacker must know or guess a valid draft-post slug, which meaningfully limits trivial mass exploitation. No EPSS score and no KEV status were supplied in the input, and there is no explicit POC flag, so exploitation-probability signals are absent rather than low - this gap should be noted, not read as 'safe.' A public technical write-up (hackmd) and a VulnCheck advisory exist and would materially lower the bar for a motivated attacker, but that is write-up availability, not confirmed weaponization. Bottom line: real but modest risk, driven entirely by whether draft posts contain sensitive or embargoed content; for most deployments this is a low-to-moderate remediation priority. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | An unauthenticated attacker visits the customer-facing blog post view page and supplies the slug of a post that has not yet been published. Because PostResource skips the authorization check and ViewPost ignores the is_published flag, the server returns the full draft content. A public technical write-up describing the flaw exists, but the input contains no confirmed exploit code or active-exploitation signal. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Oct 14, 2026
Unauthenticated attackers can read unpublished draft blog posts on Aureus ERP deployments through version 1.6.0 by directly requesting the customer-facing post view page with a known or guessed post slug. The bypass exists because the blogs plugin's PostResource skips its authorization check and the ViewPost page never enforces the is_published flag, exposing the full draft title, content, image, tags, author and publish date. Exploitation requires a publicly reachable customer blog containing at least one draft, and the slug must be known or guessed - the key limiting factor reflected as AT:P in the CVSS 4.0 vector - which keeps this a medium-severity information-disclosure issue rather than an emergency; no public exploit code identified at time of analysis.
RemediationAI
No vendor-released patch identified at time of analysis - v1.6.0 is the latest release referenced and still contains the vulnerable code paths, so no fixed version number can be cited; track the vendor repository (https://github.com/aureuserp/aureuserp) and the VulnCheck advisory (https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/aureus-erp-through-1.6.0-unpublished-blog-post-disclosure-via-direct-url) for a patched release. Until then, the most direct compensating control is to add an explicit guard in the blogs plugin: enforce a published-state check (for example aborting with a 404 when the resolved post's is_published flag is false) in Pages/ViewPost.php and add a matching authorization/query scope in PostResource.php - the trade-off is that this is a local code modification that must be re-applied after every upgrade. If the customer-facing blog is not a business requirement, disable or remove the blogs/Website plugin entirely, which eliminates the attack surface at the cost of the public content feature. As a lower-cost risk reduction, avoid committing draft posts with predictable, human-guessable slugs (use UUID or random-suffixed slugs) and refrain from leaving sensitive material in drafts, though this only raises the guessing cost and does not fix the missing check. Finally, monitor web server and application logs for direct requests to blog post view routes for non-public slugs so attempted enumeration is detectable, and apply the vendor's authentication-independent hardening (network-level access restrictions or WAF rules on the blog routes) if the site is not intended to be public-facing.

Technical ContextAI · show details
The root cause is CWE-862 (Missing Authorization) in Aureus ERP's Filament-based blogs plugin (plugins/webkul/blogs). Filament customer panel resources normally derive access control from the resource class or its policies, but PostResource (referenced at line 23 of PostResource.php in the v1.6.0 source tree) does not apply an authorization or published-state filter to the underlying Post query, and the ViewPost page (ViewPost.php lines 9-24) resolves and renders the record without checking the is_published attribute. Because Filament resource pages are routed directly, any visitor who supplies a valid slug reaches the read path; the slug itself is the only secret, and draft slugs are not publicly linked, which is why the vendor vector carries AT:P while still using PR:N and UI:N. The product is a Laravel/PHP ERP built on the Webkul plugin architecture, and the v1.6.0 release notes show it running on Filament 5.7.6 with translatable Pages and Posts via Spatie Translatable - features that expand the blog surface but do not add access control here. EUVD records the affected range as "Aureus ERP 0 ≤1.6.0". A closely related security fix in the same release (escaping HTML entities in chatter change summaries) indicates the codebase was undergoing security hardening without addressing this missing-check class in the blog view path.

DescriptionCVE.org
Aureus ERP through 1.6.0 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to read unpublished draft blog posts via the customer-facing post view page. Attackers who know or guess a post slug can retrieve the full title, content, image, tags, author and publish date because PostResource skips authorization and ViewPost ignores is_published.
