| Exploitation Conditions | Exploitation requires that the target Jivejdon account was created through the Sina Weibo OAuth login flow (SinaUserCallBackAction / OAuthAccountServiceImp.transferSina), since only those accounts have passwords set to the first four digits of the user's Weibo ID; accounts created by other means are not affected. The attacker must also know or enumerate the victim's public Weibo user ID. Beyond that there are no limiting factors - no authentication, no user interaction, and no non-default configuration is needed to perform the form login once the derived credential is known, so any internet-reachable Jivejdon instance using the Weibo integration is exposed. |
| Impact | The CVSS 4.0 score of 6.9 (Medium) is driven by a fully remote, low-complexity, unauthenticated attack vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N) with limited confidentiality and integrity impact (VC:L/VI:L) and no availability or subsequent-system impact. The flaw is a genuine design weakness (CWE-1391, weak/predictable credentials): OAuthAccountServiceImp.transferSina() derives a password from the first four digits of a public Weibo ID, so the credential entropy is only ~10,000 combinations and often directly guessable. No EPSS score, CISA KEV entry, or published exploit code was provided in the input, so despite the trivial exploit logic there is no evidence of active exploitation or weaponization. The practical impact is bounded to accounts that were actually created via the Sina/Weibo OAuth flow - a victim pool limited to deployments using that integration - which tempers the otherwise-easy exploitability. Net assessment: a real and easily-understood authentication-bypass bug credibly reported by VulnCheck, but the Medium (not Critical) severity and the extremely small real-world deployment footprint of Jivejdon make this a low operational priority for most organizations. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | An attacker enumerates a public Sina Weibo user ID of a victim who has a Jivejdon account provisioned through the Weibo OAuth login, computes the password as the first four digits of that Weibo ID, and simply logs in through the normal form-login page. Once authenticated as the victim, the attacker reads the victim's private content and posts forum messages under their identity. No published exploit tool is required - the attack is manual and follows directly from the VulnCheck advisory's description of the credential-derivation logic. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Oct 08, 2026
Authentication bypass in Jivejdon through 5.0 allows remote attackers to log in as any user whose account was created through the Sina Weibo OAuth flow, because OAuthAccountServiceImp.transferSina() and the SinaUserCallBackAction callback assign those accounts a password made up of the first four digits of the user's public Weibo ID. Since the Weibo ID is publicly visible, an unauthenticated attacker who knows or enumerates a victim's ID can submit that four-digit value through the ordinary form login and then read or post content as the victim (limited confidentiality and integrity impact). No public exploit code was identified and the CVE is not listed in CISA KEV, so exploitation is currently a design-flaw/credential-prediction risk rather than a confirmed actively exploited campaign; only accounts provisioned via the Weibo integration are exposed, not accounts created by other means.
RemediationAI
No vendor-released patch or fixed version was identified at time of analysis, so the primary action is to stop the vulnerable credential derivation from being usable: disable or remove the Sina Weibo OAuth login integration (the SinaUserCallBackAction callback and the OAuthAccountServiceImp.transferSina() provisioning path), which prevents new Weibo accounts from being created with predictable passwords but has the side effect of breaking Weibo single sign-on for legitimate users, who must then use local accounts. If the integration must stay enabled, apply the upstream code fix so that transferSina() generates a cryptographically random password or forces an out-of-band credential/password reset on first OAuth login, and immediately force a password reset for every account already created through Weibo, replacing the four-digit value with a strong random credential. Because the derived password space is only 10,000 combinations, adding rate limiting and account lockout on the form login endpoint reduces but does not eliminate exploitation, and restricting or blocking access to the OAuth callback endpoint provides an additional short-term containment measure for internet-facing deployments. Technical ContextAI · show details
Jivejdon is a Java-based open-source forum/discussion platform (project banq/jivejdon), and the issue is a textbook CWE-1391 (Use of Weak Credentials) defect in its OAuth account provisioning logic. The relevant code is at src/main/java/com/jdon/jivejdon/api/impl/account/OAuthAccountServiceImp.java (lines 192-213) and the Weibo callback handler SinaUserCallBackAction.java (lines 76-80): when a user first authenticates through Sina Weibo OAuth and no local account exists, the application auto-creates one and derives the local password deterministically from the Sina/Weibo user UID rather than from any secret. Because the Weibo UID is a public identifier, the credential is effectively guessable or enumerable by anyone, and the normal username/password form login path accepts it. The assessed CVSS 3.1 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N) confirms the attack is network-reachable, low complexity, requires no authentication and no user interaction, with only limited confidentiality and integrity impact and no availability or scope change; the CVSS 4.0 vector supplied with the record (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N) is consistent with that assessment.

DescriptionCVE.org
Jivejdon through 5.0 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to access Weibo-created accounts by deriving predictable credentials from public Weibo user IDs. OAuthAccountServiceImp.transferSina() sets the password to the first four digits of the Weibo ID, letting attackers log in through normal form login to read or post as victims.
