| Exploitation Conditions | Requires an authenticated account with page-editor privileges to create or edit a page using the Bazar 'valeur' action (tools/bazar/actions/valeur.php) with its 'url' argument pointed at an attacker-controlled HTTP(S) server that returns crafted markup (e.g. a <h1 class="BAZ_fiche_titre"> block containing an <img onerror=> handler). A victim must then view the rendered page (UI:P) for the injected script to execute. Limiting factors: exploitation is gated on existing editor-level authentication (PR:L), depends on victim page views, and is neutralized once upgraded to YesWiki 4.6.7, whose patch HTML-purifies the fetched fragment and adds an SSRF guard restricting fetches to public addresses. |
| Impact | This is a genuine but moderate-priority stored XSS (CWE-79) in YesWiki's Bazar 'valeur' action, consistent with its medium CVSS 4.0 base score of 5.1. The input CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:L/SI:L/SA:N) tells a coherent story: network-reachable and low complexity, but exploitation requires PR:L (an authenticated page editor) and UI:P (a victim must view the rendered page), with only Low confidentiality/integrity impact and no availability impact - hallmarks of reflected/stored script injection rather than server compromise. Exploitation status is 'no public exploit identified at time of analysis': the record is not in CISA KEV and no POC flag is present, and no EPSS probability was supplied, so widespread automated exploitation is not indicated. The requirement for existing editor privileges plus victim interaction meaningfully constrains real-world risk, making this a patch-on-normal-cycle issue rather than an emergency, though the impact scales with how many editors are untrusted and how many users view affected pages. Note the source diff shows the fix also added an SSRF guard (isUrlSafeToFetch), implying a secondary server-side-request concern not reflected in the XSS-only CVSS vector - verify scope with the vendor advisory GHSA-6rvf-7pwm-6j44. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | An authenticated YesWiki user with page-editor rights adds a Bazar 'valeur' action pointing its url parameter at an attacker-controlled server that returns BAZ_fiche_titre markup containing an <img onerror=...> payload. YesWiki fetches and renders that unescaped HTML, so the injected script executes in the browser of every subsequent visitor to the page. No public exploit is identified at time of analysis, but the technique is straightforward given editor access and a reachable malicious host. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Oct 04, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in YesWiki's Bazar 'valeur' action (all versions before 4.6.7) allows an authenticated page editor to point the action's 'url' argument at an attacker-controlled HTTP(S) server whose returned BAZ_fiche_titre markup - for example an <img> tag carrying an onerror handler - is rendered without escaping, so the injected script executes in the browser of every visitor who views the affected page. The impact is constrained by its prerequisites: the attacker needs an existing editor-level account (PR:L) and must induce victim page views (UI:R), yielding low confidentiality and integrity impact with changed scope, consistent with the medium CVSS 4.0 base score of 5.1 and the assessed CVSS 3.1 vector AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N. This is a genuine but moderate-priority CWE-79 issue; no public exploit identified at time of analysis, and the vendor has released a patch in YesWiki 4.6.7.
RemediationAI
Vendor-released patch: YesWiki 4.6.7 - upgrade to 4.6.7 or later, which HTML-purifies fetched fragments via HtmlPurifierService and adds an SSRF guard restricting the 'valeur' action to public http(s) addresses. The upstream fix is commit https://github.com/YesWiki/yeswiki/commit/22a5260b0381824e01d340ce9457c4adb9e18b23, and the advisory is https://github.com/YesWiki/yeswiki/security/advisories/GHSA-6rvf-7pwm-6j44. If upgrading immediately is not possible, specific compensating controls include: disable or block use of the Bazar 'valeur' action (or filter the 'valeur'/'url' arguments in stored page content) so editors cannot embed remote-fetching markup - the trade-off is loss of legitimate cross-site field extraction features; restrict page-creation and editing rights to a small trusted group and audit existing pages for 'valeur' usages with external 'url' arguments, noting this only reduces the attacker pool rather than removing the flaw; and enforce server-side egress filtering so the wiki host cannot reach arbitrary external or internal HTTP(S) endpoints, which also blunts the SSRF aspect but will break legitimate instances that fetch remote Bazar sources and requires careful allow-listing. Add a restrictive Content-Security-Policy (no inline script, no off-site script sources) as a defense-in-depth mitigation against residual script execution, accepting possible breakage of legitimate inline scripts in the wiki. Because the flaw is view-triggered, there is no reliable client-side workaround for visitors.

Technical ContextAI · show details
YesWiki is a PHP wiki/CMS, and its bundled Bazar extension handles structured 'fiche' records. The vulnerable component is tools/bazar/actions/ValeurAction.php, which implements the 'valeur' action used to extract a single field value from a remote Bazar-style page. The action takes a user-supplied 'url' argument (or falls back to the wiki's configured source_url), fetches '<url>/html' server-side via file_get_contents, then applies regular expressions to pull out a fragment - for the title field, the contents of an <h1 class="BAZ_fiche_titre"> block; for other fields, a div with a matching data-id. In pre-4.6.7 code the extracted fragment was returned directly into the rendered wiki page without output encoding, so any HTML/JavaScript in the remote response (such as an <img onerror=...> handler) was treated as trusted markup and executed in the viewer's browser - a stored, cross-user XSS mapped to CWE-79 (improper neutralization of input during web page generation). The upstream fix substantially rewrites the action: it routes extracted fragments through HtmlPurifierService::cleanHTML(), htmlspecialchars()-encodes values that are emitted into tag attributes or link text, and adds an isUrlSafeToFetch() SSRF guard that accepts only http/https URLs resolving to public, non-loopback, non-private, non-link-local, non-reserved addresses (using FILTER_FLAG_NO_PRIV_RANGE | FILTER_FLAG_NO_RES_RANGE, with explicit IPv6 link-local handling), indicating the maintainers treated the server-side fetch itself as a second hardening concern beyond the XSS. CPE data (cpe:2.3:a:yeswiki:yeswiki:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*) marks all YesWiki releases before the fixed version as affected; the vulnerability is tagged PHP, XSS, Yeswiki.

DescriptionCVE.org
YesWiki before 4.6.7 contains a cross-site scripting vulnerability in the Bazar valeur action that allows page editors to inject script by rendering unescaped HTML fetched from a remote URL. Attackers can point tools/bazar/actions/valeur.php at a controlled server returning BAZ_fiche_titre markup with an img onerror handler, executing script in every viewer's browser.
