1 technique across 1 tactic: Privilege Escalation

The technique list with ATT&CK links and the kill-chain view is part of the Basic plan and up.

Exploitation Conditions

Requires the server to be started with the specific non-default configuration MODE=queue AND ENABLE_BULLMQ_DASHBOARD=true AND running not in cloud mode (!isCloud()); default single-process/cloud deployments are not exposed. Given that configuration, the only attacker prerequisite is any valid authenticated JWT - even the lowest-privileged member of any tenant - because the /admin/queues mount is guarded solely by verifyTokenForBullMQDashboard, which checks token validity but not role, permission, or workspace/organization scope, and the mount lies outside the /api/v1/* global authorization gate. No user interaction, no admin role, and no per-tenant membership in the victim tenant are needed; the limiting factor is entirely the queue-mode + dashboard-enabled + non-cloud deployment combination.

Impact

This is a genuine authorization bypass (CWE-862), not an authentication bypass as tagged: the verifyTokenForBullMQDashboard middleware correctly validates the JWT but performs no role, permission, or workspace/organization scoping, and the /admin/queues mount sits outside the /api/v1/* global API gate. The vendor CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N, VC:H/VI:H/VA:L, score 8.7) is internally consistent with the description: network-reachable, low complexity, requiring only a low-privileged authenticated account. No EPSS score, KEV listing, or public POC was provided, so exploitation status is: no public exploit identified at time of analysis - the 8.7 reflects impact severity, not observed exploitation. The most important limiting signal is NOT in the raw CVSS but in the description: exploitation requires a specific non-default runtime configuration (MODE=queue, ENABLE_BULLMQ_DASHBOARD=true, and not cloud mode). This meaningfully narrows the real-world exposed population versus what an 8.7 alone implies. Where reachable, however, impact is real and cross-tenant (credential IDs, system prompts, custom function source, chat inputs/overrideConfig that may carry credentials, plus write actions), so for instances actually running queue mode with the dashboard enabled this is a legitimate high priority; for the typical default single-instance deployment it does not apply at all. No patch is available as of the advisory, which raises residual risk for affected configurations. VA:L/I is somewhat generous - write actions are limited to queue-job manipulation (retry/remove/promote/clean) rather than full system integrity/availability compromise.

Exploit ScenarioDerived

An attacker registers or already holds the lowest-privileged member account in any tenant on a Flowise instance running in queue mode with the BullMQ dashboard enabled (non-cloud). Using their valid JWT, they browse directly to /admin/queues - which bypasses the tenant-scoped API gate - and read every queue's job payloads across all tenants, harvesting credential IDs, system prompts, chatflow graph definitions with custom function source, and chat inputs/overrideConfig that may contain secrets, while also being able to retry/remove/promote/clean other tenants' jobs. No public exploit code was identified at time of analysis; exploitation requires only a browser and a low-privileged session.

AnalysisAIv1 – Sep 26, 2026

Authorization bypass in Flowise through 3.1.4 exposes the BullMQ (Bull-Board) admin dashboard to any authenticated user - including the lowest-privileged member of any tenant - when the server is started with MODE=queue and ENABLE_BULLMQ_DASHBOARD=true outside cloud mode. Because the /admin/queues mount is guarded only by verifyTokenForBullMQDashboard, which validates the JWT but performs no role, permission, or workspace/organization scoping, an attacker can read every queue and job payload instance-wide - chat inputs, overrideConfig objects that may carry credentials and prompts, chatflow.flowData graph definitions with custom function source code, chatIds, files, and the originating orgId/workspaceId - and can invoke write actions such as retry, remove, promote, and clean across tenants. Exposure is configuration-dependent (default single-process and cloud deployments are not affected) and no public exploit code has been identified at time of analysis.

RemediationAI

No vendor-released patch identified at time of analysis - the upstream advisory confirms no fixed version as of publication - so this must be treated as a configuration-level mitigation problem until Flowise ships a fix. The most effective control is to stop exposing the dashboard: set ENABLE_BULLMQ_DASHBOARD=false, which removes the /admin/queues mount entirely, at the cost of losing Bull-Board visibility so queue health must be monitored via Redis/CLI instead. If the dashboard is genuinely required, run Flowise in cloud mode or switch to a non-queue deployment, both of which avoid the vulnerable code path but change how jobs are processed and how the deployment is operated. Network-level containment is the next-best option: restrict /admin/queues at the reverse proxy to trusted admin IPs, or place it behind mutual TLS or an SSO-enforcing proxy - accepting that this does not fix the missing role check and can be bypassed by any direct network path to the Node port. Because job payloads were readable instance-wide, also assume exposure: rotate any credentials or API keys present in overrideConfig, audit chatflow.flowData and job payloads for embedded secrets, and review queue history for unauthorized retry, remove, promote, or clean operations.

Technical ContextAI · show details

Flowise is a low-code LLM application builder; in queue mode it offloads chatflow execution to BullMQ workers backed by Redis, and Bull-Board provides a web UI for inspecting those queues. The vulnerable component is an Express route mount at /admin/queues deliberately placed outside the /api/v1/* prefix, so the platform's global API authorization gate never runs against it; the only guard is verifyTokenForBullMQDashboard, which decodes and validates the JWT but never checks role, permission, or workspace/organization scope. That is the textbook CWE-862 (Missing Authorization) pattern: authentication succeeds while authorization is simply absent, so every job's data payload becomes readable - chatflow.flowData graph definitions with embedded custom function source, overrideConfig objects that may carry credentials and system prompts, chatIds, file references, and the originating orgId/workspaceId - turning a single low-privilege account into a cross-tenant read primitive with cross-tenant queue write actions. Note that the source tag labels this an 'Authentication Bypass'; the more precise classification, consistent with CWE-862 and with our independent assessment, is an authorization bypass, because token validation itself is intact.

DescriptionCVE.org

Flowise through 3.1.4 does not enforce authorization on the BullMQ admin dashboard. When the server runs in queue mode with the dashboard enabled and not in cloud mode (MODE=queue, ENABLE_BULLMQ_DASHBOARD=true, and !isCloud()), the /admin/queues mount is protected only by the verifyTokenForBullMQDashboard middleware, which validates the JWT but performs no role, permission, or workspace/organization scoping check; the mount also lies outside /api/v1/* so the global API gate does not apply. As a result, any authenticated user - including the lowest-privileged member of any tenant - can reach the full Bull-Board UI and view all queues and job payloads across the entire instance, including chat inputs and overrideConfig (which may carry credentials and prompts), chatflow.flowData graph definitions with custom function source code, credential IDs and system prompts, chatIds, files, and the originating orgId/workspaceId. The dashboard's write actions (retry, remove, promote, clean) are likewise usable across tenants. No patched version is available as of the advisory.

Technical POC Analysis

Fidelity note: the supplied GHSA (GHSA-rpcc-gw54-mfgx, published 2026-09-10, repo archived 2026-08-13) lists "No known CVE"; the CVE ID above comes from the task header, not the advisory text.

Executive ViewAI

Why It Matters

Flowise versions through 3.1.4 contain an authorization bypass that, when deployed with MODE=queue and ENABLE_BULLMQ_DASHBOARD=true outside cloud mode, allows any user with a valid JWT token to access the BullMQ admin dashboard. This exposes sensitive queue data across all tenants-including chat inputs, credentials, and custom code-and permits cross-tenant write actions such as retrying or removing jobs. Leadership should care because this configuration-dependent flaw can lead to data breaches, credential compromise, and operational disruption, though no public exploit identified at time of analysis.

Business Impact: High
Compensating Controls

No vendor-released patch identified at time of analysis. Interim mitigations include disabling the BullMQ dashboard (set ENABLE_BULLMQ_DASHBOARD=false), ensuring MODE is not set to queue outside cloud mode, restricting network access to /admin/queues via firewall or reverse proxy, enforcing additional authorization checks, and monitoring logs for unauthorized access.
