Exploitation Conditions

No special conditions beyond reaching the application's password-recovery endpoint: exploitation requires the recovery workflow to be exposed and the attacker to hold any valid recovery JWT, which is then reused against an arbitrary 'usuariId' because the token is not bound to that identifier. It works against the default configuration - no authentication, no privileged role, and no victim interaction are needed. The only real-world limiters are network reachability of the '/password/guardarClau/recover' endpoint and the narrow deployment of the affected product; there is no non-default feature toggle or platform prerequisite stated in the advisory.

Impact

This is a genuine high-priority vulnerability. The vendor CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H = 9.3) is fully consistent with the description: an unauthenticated, network-reachable IDOR (CWE-639) in the password-recovery flow where the JWT recovery token is not bound to the 'usuariId' parameter, so an attacker simply swaps the identifier to reset any account's password, including administrative ones. All signals point to low-effort, high-impact exploitation: no privileges, no user interaction, low complexity, and complete confidentiality/integrity/availability impact over the targeted account (full takeover). There are NO conflicting signals in the vector itself - network vector matches an HTTP endpoint, and PR:N matches the explicitly 'unauthenticated attacker' language. The tempering factors are entirely outside the technical vector: EPSS is not provided, the CVE is NOT in CISA KEV, and no public exploit code is referenced - so despite the near-critical score there is no evidence of active or widespread exploitation, and the affected product ('Tankuam Places Kompini', per the INCIBE advisory) appears to be a niche/regional application with a small deployment footprint. Net: technically a critical, trivially-exploitable account-takeover flaw, but realistic aggregate risk is bounded by the product's limited prevalence rather than by any defensive control.

Exploit ScenarioDerived

An unauthenticated attacker initiates or observes the password-recovery flow, obtains any valid recovery JWT, then sends a POST to '/password/guardarClau/recover' with the 'usuariId' parameter set to a victim's (e.g. an administrator's) account ID; because the token is never checked against that ID, the server resets the chosen account's password. The attacker logs in with the new credentials and takes over the administrative account. No public proof-of-concept is referenced, but the attack requires only trivial parameter manipulation given the low-complexity, unauthenticated vector.

AnalysisAIv1 – Sep 22, 2026

Unauthenticated attackers can reset the password of any Tankuam Places Kompini account, including administrative accounts, by tampering with the 'usuariId' parameter on the '/password/guardarClau/recover' endpoint. The recovery JWT is issued for the password-recovery workflow but is never checked against the account identifier it is used with, so any valid recovery token can be replayed against an arbitrary user ID - a classic insecure direct object reference (CWE-639) that yields full account takeover. Both the NVD-assigned CVSS 4.0 base score of 9.3 and our independent CVSS 3.1 assessment (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H) rate this critical, and exploitation needs no authentication, no privileged role and no victim interaction; no public exploit code has been identified at time of analysis, and the practical constraint is simply that the affected deployment must be network-reachable at the recovery endpoint.

RemediationAI

No vendor-released patch was identified at time of analysis; the INCIBE-CERT advisory at https://www.incibe.es/en/incibe-cert/notices/aviso/direct-references-unsafe-objects-idor-tankuam-places-kompini is the authoritative source and should be monitored for a fixed build. The definitive fix is server-side: bind the recovery JWT to the target account - validate that the token's subject claim (or its server-side session record) equals the submitted 'usuariId' before applying the password change, and reject any mismatch with an authorization error; logging and alerting on mismatches should accompany this. Until that code change ships, practical compensating controls are: take the '/password/guardarClau/recover' endpoint out of service or restrict it at the reverse proxy/WAF to trusted source addresses (trade-off: legitimate users cannot self-service password recovery and administrative resets must be handled manually); or, if the endpoint must stay public, add a WAF/reverse-proxy rule that rejects recover requests whose JWT subject differs from the 'usuariId' parameter (trade-off: requires token introspection support at the edge and can produce false positives for tokens without a subject claim); additionally rate-limit and alert on repeated sensitive-field changes to the same endpoint. Because this is an authentication-bypass class of defect, client-side validation is worthless here. If exposure is suspected, audit password-reset and authentication logs, force credential rotation for all accounts - administrators first - and review the other direct-object-reference issues mentioned in the advisory, as the same missing ownership check may exist elsewhere in the application.

Technical ContextAI · show details

The flaw is an authorization bypass through a user-controlled key (CWE-639): the password-recovery handler '/password/guardarClau/recover' accepts the target account as the 'usuariId' request parameter and simultaneously accepts a recovery JWT, but the server validates only the token's integrity/validity and never confirms that the token's subject matches the 'usuariId' being modified. In a correctly designed flow the recovery token is bound to one identity (for example via a 'sub' or 'userId' claim, or a server-side record) and the reset is applied exclusively to that identity; here the two values are decoupled, so possession of any single valid recovery token - obtainable for the attacker's own account through the normal self-service path - is sufficient to authorize a reset for every other account. The affected component is the web application's authentication/credential-management layer of Tankuam Places Kompini, reachable over HTTP(S) (AV:N) with low attack complexity and no attacker-supplied JWT forging required, since the token is legitimately issued. Because the root cause is a missing object-level authorization check rather than a cryptographic weakness, the impact spans confidentiality, integrity and availability of the compromised accounts, and the advisory title referring to 'direct references to unsafe objects (IDOR)' suggests the same pattern may recur in other endpoints that take user-supplied identifiers.

CRITICAL 9.3

DescriptionCVE.org

The ‘/password/guardarClau/recover’ endpoint accepts the ‘usuariId’ parameter, which specifies the account whose password is to be changed. The JWT token for the recovery process is not validated against the user specified in that parameter. An unauthenticated attacker could manipulate the identifier and reset the password for any account, including administrative accounts, which could allow them to take control of the account.

Executive ViewAI

Why It Matters

Tankuam Places Kompini is exposed to a critical, unauthenticated account-takeover flaw (CVE-2026-93556, CVSS 9.3) that can give attackers control of ordinary and administrative accounts without user action. For any organization with a network-reachable deployment, this threatens the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of business data and administrative functions. No public exploit identified at time of analysis and no vendor-released patch is currently identified, making urgent containment and vendor coordination a leadership priority.

Business Impact: Severe
Compensating Controls

No vendor-released patch identified at time of analysis. Interim mitigations include restricting or disabling the /password/guardarClau/recover endpoint, enforcing MFA for all accounts, deploying WAF/API gateway rules to reject mismatched recovery token and usuariId combinations, implementing a temporary server-side token/account binding fix if feasible, monitoring and alerting on password-recovery anomalies, and rotating credentials for at-risk or administrative accounts.
