Lifecycle Timeline
2DescriptionCVE.org
Concrete CMS below 9.5.3 does not perform an object-level authorization check when a Page Type was updated. The Types::submit() dashboard controller loaded and saved the Page Type identified by a user-supplied ptID without calling canEditPageType(), so a signed-in dashboard user permitted to edit one Page Type could modify the configuration of Page Types outside their assigned authorization boundary. The update_page_type token was validated but is action- and user-scoped rather than object-scoped, so it did not constrain which Page Type could be targeted. The Concrete CMS security team gave this vulnerability a CVSS v4.0 score of 5.1 with vector CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N. Thanks Andrew Gonzalez for reporting.
AnalysisAI
Missing object-level authorization in Concrete CMS below 9.5.3 allows a signed-in dashboard user with limited Page Type editing rights to modify arbitrary Page Types outside their assigned permission boundary. The Types::submit() controller accepts a user-supplied ptID parameter and persists the targeted Page Type without invoking canEditPageType(), meaning the CSRF token validation - which is action- and user-scoped only - provides no object-level constraint. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires the attacker to be authenticated to the Concrete CMS dashboard and to hold at least some level of Page Type editing permission (a non-default, administrator-delegated role). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The vendor-assigned CVSS 4.0 score of 5.1 (PR:H, VI:L, no confidentiality or availability impact) accurately reflects the constrained real-world risk. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade to Concrete CMS 9.5.3 or later, which introduces the missing canEditPageType() authorization check in the Types::submit() controller. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
