Network confused-deputy attack needs operator browser interaction (UI:R); no auth (PR:N); agent runs bash escaping the app boundary to the host, so S:C with full C/I/A.

DescriptionCVE.org

DeepSeek Harness before 0.1.2-alpha.1 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability in its local HTTP control-plane API that allows attackers to gain full agent control by supplying a spoofed Host header, as the server validates only the client-supplied Host header value rather than the actual TCP connection origin. Attackers can exploit this flaw to invoke privileged commands such as commands/execute with danger-full-access permissions, escalate session approval policies to unconfined execution, and retrieve all stored conversations without any credential or API key.

AnalysisAI

Authentication bypass in DeepSeek Harness before 0.1.2-alpha.1 lets attackers seize full control of the local agent by spoofing the HTTP Host header, because the control-plane API trusts the client-supplied Host value instead of the actual TCP connection origin. An unauthenticated attacker who lures an operator's browser to a malicious page (via DNS rebinding or a cross-site 'simple' POST) can invoke privileged methods such as commands/execute with danger-full-access, escalate approval policies to unconfined execution, and exfiltrate all stored conversations. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Requires the DeepSeek Harness control-plane API (default 127.0.0.1:3080) to be running, and the victim operator to load attacker-controlled web content in a browser on the same host - the attack is a confused-deputy/DNS-rebinding vector (UI:P), not a direct network call. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The vendor CVSS 4.0 base score is 9.4 (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:P) with high confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact on both the vulnerable and subsequent systems, reflecting that a successful confused-deputy attack yields arbitrary bash execution on the operator's host. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Vendor-released patch: 0.1.2-alpha.1 - upgrade to dsh-v0.1.2-alpha.1 or later (https://github.com/deepseek-ai/deepseek-harness/releases/tag/dsh-v0.1.2-alpha.1), which enforces a Host/Origin trust fence across the entire `/api` prefix and rejects `--host 0.0.0.0`. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
