DescriptionCVE.org

Incorrect access control in the meshInfoKick function of TOTOLINK T6 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015 allows unauthenticated attackers to kick or clean stale mesh information/state and trigger regeneration of mesh metadata via sending a crafted MQTT message to the cs_broker component.

AnalysisAI

Unauthenticated mesh-state manipulation in the TOTOLINK T6 router (firmware 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015) lets a remote attacker invoke the meshInfoKick function by publishing a crafted MQTT message to the internal cs_broker component, kicking or clearing stale mesh information and forcing regeneration of mesh metadata. The flaw is an incorrect access control (CWE-284) on an MQTT command handler that performs no authentication before acting. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires network reachability to the TOTOLINK T6's internal cs_broker MQTT component and the ability to publish a crafted MQTT message invoking the meshInfoKick handler; no authentication, credentials, or user interaction are needed (PR:N/UI:N). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N, C:H/I:H/A:H = 9.8) and the SSVC signals (Automatable: yes, Technical Impact: total) paint a critical picture, but the signals conflict with the described behavior and should be reconciled before treating the raw score at face value. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation No vendor-released patch version is identified in the available data at time of analysis; monitor the TOTOLINK download portal (https://www.totolink.net/home/menu/detail/menu_listtpl/download/id/190/ids/36.html) and the vendor-coordination trackers (https://github.com/DarkBoulder/CVE-Vendor-Coordination/blob/main/TOTOLINK/README.md, https://github.com/ShengWu00/CVE-Vendor-Coordination/blob/main/TOTOLINK/README.md) for firmware updates. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours: Inventory all TOTOLINK T6 routers in your environment and identify which are running firmware 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015; review network firewall rules and segment MQTT traffic (cs_broker) to trusted administrative networks only. …
