DescriptionCVE.org

The NotificationX Pro plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting in all versions up to, and including, 3.1.4 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

AnalysisAI

Stored Cross-Site Scripting in NotificationX Pro for WordPress (all versions through 3.1.4) allows unauthenticated remote attackers to persistently inject arbitrary JavaScript into site pages, executing in any visitor's browser context. The CVSS vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C) reflects the combination of zero-privilege access and a scope change impact reaching beyond the WordPress installation itself into the browser sessions of site visitors. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation The CVSS vector (PR:N/AC:L/AV:N/UI:N) indicates no special configuration or authentication is required for the injection step - any internet-reachable WordPress installation running NotificationX Pro through version 3.1.4 is exposed. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS base score of 7.2 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N) is elevated primarily by the unauthenticated attack surface and the scope change to the victim's browser. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario An unauthenticated attacker submits a crafted HTTP request to a NotificationX Pro input endpoint containing a malicious JavaScript payload - for example, a script designed to exfiltrate session cookies. The payload is stored in the WordPress database without sanitization, and every subsequent visitor who loads the affected page executes the script in their own browser context, allowing the attacker to harvest session tokens or perform actions on behalf of authenticated users. …
