3DescriptionCVE.org
Dolibarr before 24.0.0 contains an improper authorization vulnerability in the user REST API update endpoint that allows attackers with user-write rights to modify payroll fields by exploiting an incomplete credential denylist that omits payroll columns. Attackers can rewrite salary, bonus, hourly rate, daily rate, and weekly hours for any user without holding payroll rights, with the modified values appearing in payroll export reports.
AnalysisAI
Dolibarr's REST API user-update endpoint permits any low-privileged account holding user-write rights to overwrite payroll fields - salary, bonus, hourly rate, daily rate, and weekly hours - for arbitrary user records, bypassing intended payroll-role access controls. All Dolibarr versions before 24.0.0 are affected due to an incomplete field denylist that fails to exclude payroll columns from mass-assignment in the API layer. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires a valid Dolibarr account that has been explicitly granted the user-write right, which permits modification of user records via the REST API. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N) indicates a network-reachable flaw requiring low-privilege authentication with no other attack complexity - meaning any valid Dolibarr account with user-write rights is a potential attack origin. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | The primary fix is to upgrade Dolibarr to version 24.0.0 or later, released at https://github.com/Dolibarr/dolibarr/releases/tag/24.0.0 (patch commit c85d0e840725a3c1a2f49b3e97766469c3cb02b6). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours, inventory all Dolibarr deployments and identify instances running versions below 24.0.0; restrict REST API payroll endpoint access to designated payroll administrators only as an interim measure. …
