4DescriptionCVE.org
The JetEngine WordPress plugin before 3.8.14 adds SVG to the site-wide list of allowed upload types without sanitising the file contents, allowing users with the upload files capability, such as Authors, to upload a file containing malicious JavaScript that executes in the browser of any user who opens it (Stored Cross-Site Scripting). On multisite, this also overrides an upload-type restriction set by the network administrator.
AnalysisAI
Stored cross-site scripting in the JetEngine WordPress plugin before 3.8.14 allows users with the upload files capability - such as Authors - to upload unsanitized SVG files whose embedded JavaScript executes in any visitor's browser upon viewing the file. The plugin adds SVG to the site-wide allowed upload type list without stripping executable content, and on WordPress multisite deployments the flaw additionally bypasses upload-type restrictions enforced by the network administrator. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires the attacker to hold a WordPress user account with the 'upload files' capability, which WordPress assigns by default to the Author, Editor, and Administrator roles - it is NOT available to Subscriber or Contributor roles by default. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 6.8 score with vector AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H reflects a meaningful tension between high potential impact and constrained exploitability: the attacker must already hold at minimum Author-level credentials on the target site (PR:H per NVD, though Author is arguably PR:L in WordPress privilege taxonomy - see confidence notes), and a victim must actively open the uploaded SVG (UI:R). … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Update JetEngine to version 3.8.14 or later, which represents the vendor-released patch confirmed by the WPScan advisory (https://wpscan.com/vulnerability/911d3b5a-0f03-4423-b4b0-84e588c323d8/) and EUVD-2026-62278. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
