DescriptionCVE.org

The BuddyHolis TableSearch plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the ‘placeholder’ parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.1.0 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

AnalysisAI

Stored Cross-Site Scripting in the BuddyHolis TableSearch plugin for WordPress (all versions ≤1.1.0) permits authenticated attackers holding Contributor-level or higher role access to inject persistent JavaScript via the 'placeholder' parameter, which then executes in the browsers of every subsequent visitor to the affected page. The Scope:Changed CVSS metric reflects that payload impact crosses from the WordPress plugin into victims' browser environments, enabling session hijacking, credential theft, or administrative account takeover if an administrator views the injected page. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires an active, authenticated WordPress session with at minimum Contributor-level role privileges, consistent with PR:L in the CVSS vector. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The vendor-reported CVSS base score of 6.4 (Medium) reflects network reachability, low attack complexity, low privilege requirement, and scope change - signals that collectively indicate moderate but real risk. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario An attacker creates or compromises a Contributor-level WordPress account on a target site running BuddyHolis TableSearch ≤1.1.0, then edits a post or page containing a TableSearch block and submits a crafted JavaScript payload in the 'placeholder' field. The payload is stored in the WordPress database and silently executes in the browser of every user - including administrators - who visits the affected page, allowing the attacker to steal session cookies and escalate to full administrative control without any further interaction required after the initial injection.
Remediation No vendor-released patched version number was identified in the available data - the current fix status must be verified against the Wordfence advisory at https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/eea79152-76ef-4331-8999-e13f92cd08f4?source=cve and the WordPress plugin repository before committing to a remediation path. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
