Exploitation Conditions

Exploitation requires (1) a valid authenticated account on the target instance (CVSS PR:L - any low-privileged tenant user, not an anonymous attacker), and (2) that the deployment actually runs in multi-tenant mode with more than one tenant storing blobs, since the attack reads across tenant boundaries. The concrete trigger is supplying a victim tenantId in the BlobManagement download-by-name request, which causes DownloadByNameAsync to switch tenant context; the attacker must know or guess the target blob name and the victim tenantId. Limiting factors: authentication is mandatory, impact is confined to file/blob confidentiality disclosure (no write or denial-of-service), only versions 10.4.0 through 10.7.0 are affected, and single-tenant deployments have no cross-tenant data to expose.

Impact

The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N) and the description agree internally: this is a network-reachable, low-complexity flaw requiring low-level authentication (PR:L - any valid, logged-in tenant user) with high confidentiality impact and no integrity or availability impact, consistent with CWE-639 (authorization bypass through a user-controlled tenantId key). Signals are coherent rather than conflicting: VulnCheck published an advisory, a vendor patch exists (PR #1633 with two fix commits), and a detailed HackMD technical writeup is referenced, so the mechanism is well documented. However, no EPSS score and no KEV listing are provided in the input, and there is no confirmation of active exploitation, so this is not a confirmed in-the-wild threat. The vuln.today decision label is 'this_week' - a meaningful-but-not-emergency priority - which fits the profile: a real, easily-reproduced IDOR in a self-hosted multi-tenant admin framework, gated behind authentication and limited to file disclosure. This is a genuine priority for anyone running abp-next-admin in a multi-tenant deployment (tenant isolation is a core security boundary), but the authentication requirement and confidentiality-only impact keep it below critical. The main uncertainty is real-world footprint rather than technical validity.

Exploit ScenarioDerived

An attacker registers or already holds a low-privileged account in one tenant of an abp-next-admin (10.4.0-10.7.0) deployment, then calls the BlobManagement download-by-name endpoint while substituting a different (victim) tenantId into the request. DownloadByNameAsync switches tenant context to the attacker-supplied value and returns blobs belonging to that tenant, disclosing other tenants' files. A public PoC reference exists (HackMD writeup and VulnCheck advisory); it is not verified as working exploit code.

AnalysisAIv1 – Oct 30, 2026

Cross-tenant file disclosure in abp-next-admin 10.4.0 through 10.7.0 lets any authenticated tenant user read blobs belonging to another tenant by supplying the victim's tenantId in the BlobManagement download-by-name request, which causes DownloadByNameAsync to switch tenant context and return the other tenant's stored files. The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N) matches the description: low-complexity, network-reachable, requires a valid logged-in account, and impacts confidentiality only. Exploitation is limited to deployments running in multi-tenant mode with more than one tenant storing blobs, and the attacker must know or guess both the victim tenantId and the blob name; a public PoC reference exists (a walkthrough write-up), and the vendor has addressed the issue in available patches.

RemediationAI

Upgrade abp-next-admin to a build containing the upstream fix, which removes the caller-controlled TenantId from the BlobDownloadByNameInput client proxy DTO: the change is in pull request https://github.com/colinin/abp-next-admin/pull/1633 and commits https://github.com/colinin/abp-next-admin/commit/3ea383093d51b18984652fc9b2d3dcc779a372ee and https://github.com/colinin/abp-next-admin/commit/fc5e6d5a8a11a65e06fe001fe4a55e414956fc0c, with the patch listed as available from the vendor; no separately tagged release version is stated in the available data, so confirm the deployed build includes those commits rather than assuming a version number. Because the upstream fix is a source change to the DTO and generated proxies, rebuild and redeploy the affected services and regenerate any client proxies so stale clients cannot continue sending TenantId. Until the patch is deployed, operators of multi-tenant instances can restrict access to the blob-management download-by-name endpoint at the gateway or with an authorization policy limited to trusted administrative roles, accepting that legitimate tenant users lose self-service blob download through that route until the upgrade is applied.

Technical ContextAI · show details

abp-next-admin is a .NET/ABP Framework-based admin platform whose blob-management module (LINGYUN.Abp.BlobManagement) exposes an application service, BlobAppService, with a DownloadByNameAsync operation reached through the download-by-name endpoint. The underlying weakness is CWE-639, authorization bypass through a user-controlled key: the client-side DTO BlobDownloadByNameInput carried a nullable Guid TenantId property that was bound from the request, so a caller could specify the tenant whose context should be used for the lookup. Because blob storage in this module is tenant-scoped, switching tenant context made the service resolve and stream blobs owned by a different tenant. The upstream fix (pull request 1633 and commits 3ea3830 / fc5e6d5) removes the TenantId property from the generated client proxy DTO and regenerates the proxy definition, so the tenant is no longer taken from caller-supplied input. The affected component is identified by CPE cpe:2.3:a:colinin:abp-next-admin; only versions 10.4.0 through 10.7.0 are in scope, and single-tenant deployments have no cross-tenant boundary to cross.

DescriptionCVE.org

abp-next-admin 10.4.0 through 10.7.0 contains a cross-tenant authorization bypass in the BlobManagement download-by-name endpoint, letting authenticated users read other tenants' files. Attackers supply a victim tenantId in the request path, causing DownloadByNameAsync to switch tenant context and return blobs stored by that tenant.

Executive ViewAI

Why It Matters

A cross-tenant data exposure vulnerability in abp-next-admin versions 10.4.0 through 10.7.0 allows any authenticated user in a multi-tenant deployment to access files belonging to other tenants, potentially compromising confidential business data. This affects organizations using the product in multi-tenant mode with multiple tenants storing blobs, and could lead to data breaches, regulatory violations, and reputational damage.
