| Exploitation Conditions | Requires (1) a valid OWA account with the view_reports capability on at least one site, and (2) a multi-site OWA installation (before 1.14.1) hosting data for more than one site on the same instance, since the attacker reads a DIFFERENT site's data than the one they are authorized for. The attacker must also know or obtain a target site's session_id, order_id/transactionId, or Domstream recording guid to reference the victim record. Limiting factors: exploitation is impossible on single-site installations (no other site's data to disclose), requires authenticated access rather than being open to anonymous attackers (PR:L), and impact is read-only confidentiality disclosure with no write or availability effect. Affected: all versions before 1.14.1; fixed in 1.14.1. |
| Impact | This is a genuine but moderate-priority issue, not a top-tier emergency. The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N) scores 5.3 (Medium): network-reachable, low complexity, but requiring low privileges (PR:L) - the attacker must already hold a valid OWA account with the view_reports capability on at least one site. Impact is confidentiality-only and rated Low, consistent with a read-only cross-tenant data disclosure (CWE-639 / IDOR). No EPSS score was provided and the CVE is not on CISA KEV, so there is no signal of widespread or confirmed active exploitation - exploitation status is 'no public exploit identified at time of analysis' in the strict KEV/POC sense, though a public technical writeup describing the IDOR exists (hackmd) and VulnCheck published an advisory. The vuln.today Decision label is 'this_month', which aligns with the Medium severity and authenticated, single-impact nature: remediate on a normal patch cycle rather than as an out-of-band emergency. Two caveats: the disclosed data (visit history, IP addresses, user agents, and order/transaction data) is meaningful PII, so the real-world confidentiality harm may feel higher than the 'Low' CVSS impact label suggests; and exploitation is only relevant in multi-site OWA installations where more than one site's data shares the instance. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | An attacker holding a legitimate low-privilege account with view_reports on one site of a shared multi-site OWA installation calls the REST report API (clickstream, transaction, or recording player endpoints), supplying their own authorized siteId together with another tenant's session_id or order_id. Because the pre-1.14.1 queries scoped by record id alone and never by site_id, the server returns the other site's visit history, IP addresses, user agents, and order data. A public technical writeup describing this cross-site IDOR exists; it is not verified as working exploit code. The low complexity and network vector make this trivially repeatable once an attacker has any valid view_reports account. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Oct 30, 2026
Cross-site data disclosure in Open Web Analytics before 1.14.1 lets an authenticated user holding the view_reports capability on one site read another site's clickstream visit history, transaction and order records, and Domstream session recordings on the same installation. The reports REST controller and the Domstream player keyed lookups on the caller-supplied session_id, transactionId/order_id or recording guid without also constraining the query to the siteId the capability was checked against, so a user authorized for site A can pair their own siteId with a victim site's record identifier and receive that site's IP addresses, user agents and order data. No public exploit has been identified at time of analysis and there is no KEV listing; exploitation requires a valid account, a multi-site deployment, and knowledge of a target record identifier, so single-site instances are not exposed.
RemediationAI
Vendor-released patch: upgrade to Open Web Analytics 1.14.1 (https://github.com/Open-Web-Analytics/Open-Web-Analytics/releases/tag/1.14.1), which adds site scoping to the clickstream, latest-actions, transaction and Domstream queries; operators running a forked or customised tree can apply the upstream commits 9a1b62893fe8242048a1129d96f89a52f910be72 and e6832fa60ead473c5792a999ae32abb3fecc2790 directly. Where an immediate upgrade is not possible, reduce exposure by treating every view_reports grant as equivalent to read access to all site data on that instance: audit and remove view_reports from accounts that should only see one site, and consider separating tenant data onto distinct installations, accepting that per-site report access can no longer be safely delegated until the fix is deployed. Note that filtering on record identifiers at a proxy or WAF is not a reliable workaround, since the leak occurs inside authenticated, well-formed report requests.

Technical ContextAI · show details
Open Web Analytics is a PHP web analytics application; its REST report endpoints live in modules/Base/Controller/ReportsRest.php and the session-replay player in modules/Domstream/Controller/DomstreamsRestController.php. The flaw is CWE-639 (Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key): the view_reports capability is validated against the siteId supplied on the request, but the subsequent data queries in report_clickstream(), report_latest_actions(), report_transactions()/transaction_items and getDomstream() filtered only on the record identifier (session_id, transactionId/order_id, or domstream guid). The upstream diff additionally notes that Db::where() silently drops a clause whose value is empty, so an empty siteId degenerated into 'every site's data' rather than no data. The fix adds request.site_id / site_id predicates alongside the record identifiers, short-circuits empty siteIds to an empty paginated result set, and factors the transaction lookup into a transactionDetail() helper that queries by both order_id and site_id; a new tests/ReportsSiteScopeTest.php seeds a record on site B and asserts it is not returned to a viewer granted only site A. A third-party technical writeup of the cross-site IDOR is linked from the advisory, but no working exploit code is confirmed.

DescriptionCVE.org
Open Web Analytics before 1.14.1 contains an authorization vulnerability that allows authenticated users to read other sites' report data because clickstream and transaction reports are not scoped to the authorized siteId. Users with view_reports on one site can supply that siteId with another site's session_id or order_id to read its visit history, IP addresses, user agents and order data.
