| Exploitation Conditions | Requires a valid authenticated low-privilege user account within the target tenant (PR:L). The specific prerequisite is reaching the oauth module's /anyone/findDeptByCompany endpoint, which omits the URI permission check that should restrict access, combined with sequential/predictable employeeId values that permit enumeration. Limiting factors: exploitation is impossible without prior authentication, the impact is confined to reading employee department-membership data within a single tenant (confidentiality only - no modification or denial of service), and it affects only lamp-boot versions 4.16.0-java17 through 4.21.2-java17. |
| Impact | This is a genuine but low-to-moderate-severity authorization flaw, not a high-urgency emergency. The provided CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N) scores 5.3 (medium) and is internally consistent with the description: network-reachable, low attack complexity, requires an authenticated low-privilege account (PR:L), and yields only a low confidentiality impact (VC:L) with no integrity or availability impact. No EPSS probability was supplied and the CVE is not listed in CISA KEV, so there is no evidence of active or widespread exploitation. No explicit POC/exploit-code flag was provided in the input, though a public technical write-up (hackmd) and a VulnCheck advisory document the issue, lowering the research barrier for an attacker. The signals are consistent rather than conflicting: a medium-CVSS, authenticated, read-only IDOR affecting a niche open-source framework. Net real-world risk is limited - exploitation discloses only employee-to-department mappings within a single tenant and requires prior authentication - so this is a legitimate fix-in-normal-cycle item rather than a drop-everything priority. Note the input tag 'Authentication Bypass' is a misnomer: authentication is NOT bypassed (users are authenticated); the flaw is broken object-level authorization (CWE-639 IDOR). |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | A low-privilege but authenticated user inside a tenant calls the oauth module's /anyone/findDeptByCompany endpoint, which skips URI permission checks, and increments sequential employeeId values to enumerate the department membership of every employee in the tenant. A public technical write-up (hackmd) and VulnCheck advisory describe the flaw, but no weaponized exploit code was flagged in the input. Because the attack vector is network-based with low complexity, scripting the enumeration is trivial once a valid account is held. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Oct 14, 2026
An insecure direct object reference in the oauth module of lamp-boot (versions 4.16.0-java17 through 4.21.2-java17) allows any authenticated low-privilege user to read the department membership of every employee in their tenant by iterating sequential employeeId values against the /anyone/findDeptByCompany endpoint. The endpoint is placed under an /anyone/ path prefix that bypasses the application's URI permission check, so the request never triggers the authorization logic that would otherwise scope results to the caller. Impact is limited to confidentiality (read-only exposure of department-membership data within a single tenant), authentication with a low-privilege account is a hard prerequisite, and no public exploit code was identified at time of analysis.
RemediationAI
No vendor-released patch was identified at time of analysis, so the fix must be applied either upstream by adopting a corrected release when one is published or locally by code change. The highest-fidelity remedy is to remove /anyone/findDeptByCompany from the URI permission bypass list in the oauth module and enforce an ownership/tenant check inside the handler, resolving the department from the authenticated principal instead of a caller-supplied employeeId - this is a behavior change that may break legitimate clients relying on the old lookup, so coordinate with integrators. As a compensating control until code can be changed, block or restrict the path at the reverse proxy or API gateway (deny /oauth/anyone/findDeptByCompany externally, or allow it only from trusted internal callers); the trade-off is that any legitimate consumer of that route will need an allowlist entry. Replacing the sequential employeeId with an opaque or tenant-scoped identifier raises the cost of enumeration but is only partial mitigation because the missing authorization check remains. Additionally, alert on high-volume sequential employeeId access patterns to detect exploitation attempts, and treat the exposed department-membership data as disclosed for any tenant where suspicious enumeration was observed. Review the advisory at https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/lamp-boot-4.16.0-java17-through-4.21.2-java17-idor-via-anyone-finddeptbycompany and the technical write-up at https://hackmd.io/@hieuPenguinnn/lamp-boot-finddeptbycompany-employee-idor for updates.

Technical ContextAI · show details
The flaw is a CWE-639 authorization bypass through a user-controlled key, a subtype of insecure direct object reference. lamp-boot is a Java/Spring-based multi-tenant admin framework whose oauth module exposes controller endpoints under a URL scheme where /anyone/* paths are treated as publicly reachable and therefore skipped by the framework's URI permission interceptor. UserInfoController (see the referenced source at lamp-oauth/lamp-oauth-controller/src/main/java/top/tangyh/lamp/oauth/controller/UserInfoController.java#L167) exposes findDeptByCompany beneath that prefix, and it resolves the target purely from a caller-supplied employeeId rather than from the authenticated principal's identity or tenant-scoped ownership check. Because the identifier is a small sequential integer, an attacker with any valid low-privilege token can walk the key space and map employees to departments across the tenant. The weakness is a missing server-side object-level authorization decision, not a memory-safety, injection, or cryptographic defect, and the CVSS 4.0 vector (PR:L, VC:L only, no VI/VA, no subsequent-system impact) confirms a purely read-oriented confidentiality exposure.

DescriptionCVE.org
lamp-boot 4.16.0-java17 through 4.21.2-java17 contains an insecure direct object reference vulnerability in the oauth module's /anyone/findDeptByCompany endpoint that skips URI permission checks. Authenticated low-privilege users can iterate sequential employeeId values to read every employee's department membership within the tenant.
