3DescriptionCVE.org
A flaw was found in the Admin REST API of Keycloak, an identity and access management solution. The endpoints used to retrieve groups associated with a specific role do not properly check for individual group visibility permissions. This allows a delegated administrator with basic search privileges to view detailed information about all groups assigned to a role, bypassing intended security restrictions that should limit their view to specific groups.
AnalysisAI
Information disclosure in the Keycloak Admin REST API lets an authenticated delegated administrator holding only basic group/role search privileges enumerate every group assigned to a given role, including groups they are supposed to be unable to see. The flaw (CWE-862, missing authorization) affects the Admin REST API endpoints that return role-to-group mappings in Keycloak, Red Hat Build of Keycloak, and Red Hat Single Sign-On 7, and is rated CVSS 3.1 4.3 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N) - a read-only confidentiality impact with no integrity or availability effect. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Requires an authenticated delegated administrator account with at least basic group/role search privileges on a Keycloak, Red Hat Build of Keycloak, or Red Hat SSO 7 instance whose administration model relies on per-group visibility restrictions to scope what delegated admins can see. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a genuine but low-severity information-disclosure issue, not a top-priority fix. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patch version is identified in the available advisory data - the Red Hat entry at https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-97311 does not state a fixed build, so the primary action is to monitor that page and apply the corrected Red Hat Build of Keycloak or Red Hat Single Sign-On 7 release as soon as Red Hat publishes the errata, then restart the affected service. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
