Tencent BrowserSkill through 0.3.0 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability in the local daemon WebSocket origin validation that accepts any chrome-extension origin with 32 characters in range a-p. Attackers can register a malicious extension as a browser client to intercept and manipulate page content, DOM, and screenshots returned to the AI agent.
AnalysisAI
Authentication bypass in the Tencent BrowserSkill local WebSocket daemon (bsk-cli, through v0.3.0) allows any installed browser extension that presents a syntactically valid 32-character Chrome extension ID to register as a client and intercept or manipulate the page content, DOM, and screenshots returned to the AI agent. The root cause is a missing origin allowlist (CWE-346) rather than a memory-safety bug, so exploitation is limited to hosts where a hostile extension can be loaded into the browser and the daemon is running - reflected in the assessed CVSS:3.1 vector AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N with high integrity impact (I:H) and low confidentiality/availability impact, and in the supplied CVSS 4.0 score of 6.9. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Requires a malicious browser extension to be installed and registered on the victim's browser, and the Tencent BrowserSkill local WebSocket daemon (bsk-cli, through v0.3.0) must be running on the host. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a moderate, locally-scoped integrity risk rather than a widespread emergency. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patch was identified at time of analysis; the practical fix is to upgrade Tencent BrowserSkill/bsk-cli to a release that replaces the shape-only origin check with an exact allowlist of trusted extension IDs, and to verify that change against the referenced source file before relying on it. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
