DescriptionCVE.org

PatrowlManager through 1.8.4 contains an improper access control vulnerability in the user listing API endpoint where the authorization decorator is commented out. Authenticated attackers with low-privilege accounts can enumerate all users and their privilege flags including superuser and staff status by accessing the endpoint.

AnalysisAI

Authenticated low-privilege users of PatrowlManager (versions 0 through 1.8.4) can enumerate the complete user list and read each account's privilege flags - including superuser and staff status - because the authorization decorator on the user-listing API endpoint in users/apis.py was commented out. The issue is rated low severity (CVSS 4.0 5.3, assessed as CVSS 3.1 AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N): it requires valid credentials and yields read-only account metadata with no integrity or availability impact, so its practical value is reconnaissance for privilege-escalation planning rather than direct compromise. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Requires an authenticated low-privilege account on a PatrowlManager instance (version 0 through 1.8.4); the attacker then reaches the user-listing API endpoint in users/apis.py whose @authorization decorator has been commented out, exposing all users and their superuser/staff privilege flags. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment This is a genuinely low-severity information-disclosure issue, and the signals are consistent rather than conflicting. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation No vendor-released patch identified at time of analysis: the supplied references point only to upstream issue 473 and to the affected source lines (users/apis.py#L29-L39), with no fixed release, commit, or tagged version confirmed, so the most reliable remediation is a self-applied code fix - re-enable the commented-out @authorization decorator on the user-listing view (or replace it with an explicit staff/superuser permission check) and redeploy; validate the change against the upstream project page https://github.com/Patrowl/PatrowlManager and track issue 473 for an official release. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Threat intelligence, references, and detailed analysis are available after sign-in.
