1 technique across 1 tactic: Privilege Escalation The technique list with ATT&CK links and the kill-chain view is part of the Basic plan and up. |
| Exploitation Conditions | Exploitable when WP Fusion Lite 3.37.14 through before 3.48.0 is installed and active. The vulnerable settings handler is registered to run during WordPress admin initialization (admin_init) but omits any capability or nonce/authorization check, so an unauthenticated request can reach it against default configurations - no special plugin setting, user interaction, or authentication is required (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N). The only meaningful limiting factors are that the plugin must be installed and the attacker's full data-exfiltration payoff depends on the site actively syncing user data to the (now attacker-controlled) CRM endpoint; sites with little or no synced user data see reduced confidentiality impact. |
| Impact | This is a genuine, if moderate, priority. The CVSS 3.1 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N) describes a network-reachable flaw that requires no authentication, no user interaction, and low complexity - the easiest possible exploitation profile. The root cause (CWE-862, missing authorization on a settings handler that fires during WordPress admin initialization) means the privilege gate that should protect a sensitive configuration endpoint is simply absent, so any unauthenticated visitor can overwrite the site's CRM integration endpoint and credentials. The practical impact is data exfiltration: once the sync target is redirected to an attacker host, synced user data (CRM-bound PII) flows to the attacker, which is why both C:L and I:L are set (confidentiality loss of user data plus integrity loss of the plugin's configuration). The 6.5 base score is somewhat tempered by the 'Low' impact subscores - this is not full database compromise or RCE. No EPSS score, CISA KEV listing, or public POC is present in the provided data, so there is no public-exploit or active-exploitation signal; the realistic status is no public exploit identified at time of analysis. The signals are internally consistent (network/unauth vector matches the admin_init missing-auth description), so no CVSS-vs-description conflict exists. Overall: easy to exploit and mapped to a concrete data-leak outcome, but bounded impact and no exploitation-in-the-wild evidence place it as a solid 'patch promptly' rather than 'drop everything' item. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | An unauthenticated attacker sends a crafted HTTP request to a WordPress site running WP Fusion Lite below 3.48.0, hitting the settings handler that executes during admin initialization without any capability or nonce check. The attacker overwrites the CRM integration endpoint and credentials to point at a server they control, so that subsequent user-data synchronization delivers member/customer PII to the attacker-chosen host. No public POC or active exploitation is indicated in the available data. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Oct 01, 2026
Unauthenticated attackers can overwrite the CRM integration endpoint and stored credentials of any WordPress site running WP Fusion Lite versions from 3.37.14 up to but not including 3.48.0, redirecting the plugin's outbound data sync to a server they control. Because the vulnerable settings handler runs on the WordPress admin initialization hook without any capability or nonce check, a crafted request needing no login, no user interaction, and no special configuration is sufficient (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N, rated 6.5). The practical payoff is ongoing exfiltration of synced user records to the attacker's host, so sites with substantial synced customer data face the greatest exposure; no confirmed active exploitation or public exploit code was identified at time of analysis, and a vendor patch is available.
RemediationAI
Vendor-released patch: upgrade WP Fusion Lite to 3.48.0 or later immediately; the vendor confirms a fix is available, and 3.48.0 is the first version outside the affected range (see the WPScan advisory at https://wpscan.com/vulnerability/e57b41b3-3243-4ce1-98a6-40726ab138f3/ and VulDB at https://vuldb.com/vuln/412511). Because the missing authorization check sits on the admin_init path, if an upgrade cannot be applied at once, deactivate the plugin - this fully closes the issue but stops all CRM syncing and any automation depending on it. As a narrower compensating control, block or rate-limit unauthenticated POST requests to /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php and /wp-admin/admin-post.php at the WAF or reverse proxy, accepting the trade-off that some legitimate front-end AJAX and post handlers may break and that this is bypassable if an attacker can forge allowed request shapes. After patching, treat the site as potentially compromised: inspect the plugin's CRM integration settings and wp_options for an unknown or attacker-controlled endpoint, rotate the CRM/API credentials that were stored in the plugin, and review CRM or mail-provider logs for unexpected outbound deliveries of user data so that any prior exfiltration can be scoped and users notified where required.

Technical ContextAI · show details
WP Fusion Lite is a WordPress plugin that connects a site to external CRM and marketing automation platforms (for example Salesforce, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign) by storing an API endpoint and credentials, then pushing WordPress user and membership data to that endpoint on registration, login, or profile update. The flaw is CWE-862 (Missing Authorization): the plugin registers a settings-handling callback on the WordPress admin_init hook but performs no current_user_can() capability check and no nonce verification. admin_init is not restricted to logged-in administrators - it also fires on unauthenticated requests to admin-ajax.php and admin-post.php - so the handler is reachable by any remote client. The handler writes attacker-supplied values into the plugin's options, replacing the configured CRM base URL/endpoint and associated API credentials. From that point the plugin treats the attacker's host as the legitimate CRM, and every subsequently synced user record is transmitted off-site. Per the EUVD CPE data the affected package is the WordPress plugin WP Fusion Lite 3.37.14 through versions before 3.48.0. The assessed vector confirms a purely network-reachable, unauthenticated, no-interaction attack with low confidentiality and integrity impact and no availability impact, since the primitive is an option overwrite that yields data redirection rather than code execution or denial of service.

3DescriptionCVE.org
The WP Fusion Lite WordPress plugin before 3.48.0 does not require authentication on a settings handler that runs during admin initialization, allowing unauthenticated users to overwrite the site's CRM integration endpoint and credentials, after which synced user data is delivered to an attacker-chosen host.
