The technique list with ATT&CK links and the kill-chain view is part of the Basic plan and up.

Exploitation Conditions

Exploitation requires that the front-end web server serve the plugin's retained .tmp file (produced by the comments-atom feed download/optimize flow) WITHOUT a Content-Type header and WITHOUT X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff, so that a MIME-sniffing Chromium-based browser interprets and executes the injected script - a condition the advisory states is present by default on many Apache and nginx/php-fpm deployments. No authentication is required (PR:N). Limiting factors: servers that send X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff or a correct Content-Type on .tmp files are NOT exploitable; non-MIME-sniffing browsers do not execute the payload; and a victim must subsequently access the injected page/file for the script to run.

Impact

This is a genuine but conditional, moderate-risk issue rather than a top-tier emergency. The CVSS 3.1 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N, 7.2) frames it as a network-reachable, unauthenticated stored XSS with scope change, which on its face looks highly exploitable. However, the description introduces a critical real-world dependency not captured in the AC:L rating: exploitation only succeeds when the front-end server serves the retained .tmp file WITHOUT a Content-Type or X-Content-Type-Options header, allowing MIME-sniffing browsers (Chromium) to execute the payload. That server-configuration dependency arguably warrants AC:H rather than AC:L, which is why my independent assessment lowers complexity-driven score. No EPSS score was provided, so exploitation probability cannot be quantified. The vulnerability is NOT in CISA KEV and no public POC was supplied - exploitation status is 'no public exploit identified at time of analysis.' Signals are therefore consistent and non-alarming: high-ish CVSS, but no evidence of active exploitation, impact limited to C:L/I:L (script execution in victim browsers, no availability impact), and a non-universal precondition. Priority should be driven by the large install base and the trivial unauthenticated injection vector, tempered by the fact that hardened deployments (X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff) are not exploitable.

Exploit ScenarioDerived

An unauthenticated attacker submits a crafted 's' search parameter to the plugin's comments-atom feed, causing a malicious script to be written into a retained .tmp file. When a site visitor later requests that .tmp file and the server returns it without a Content-Type or X-Content-Type-Options header, a MIME-sniffing browser executes the injected JavaScript in the site's origin, enabling session/cookie theft or admin-context actions. No public exploit code was identified in the provided intelligence.

AnalysisAIv1 – Oct 07, 2026

Stored cross-site scripting in the OMGF | GDPR/DSGVO Compliant, Faster Google Fonts. Easy. plugin for WordPress affects every version up to and including 6.3.10, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary script through the 's' search parameter as it is handled by the plugin's comments-atom feed flow; the payload is written into a retained .tmp file and executes when a victim later loads the affected page or file. Exploitation is conditional rather than automatic: it only succeeds where the front-end web server serves that .tmp artifact without a Content-Type header and without X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff, so that a MIME-sniffing Chromium-based browser treats it as HTML and runs the script, a configuration the advisory notes is common by default on many Apache and nginx/php-fpm deployments. No public exploit code has been identified and the issue is not listed in CISA KEV; because the assessed vector requires high attack complexity and a non-sniffing or correctly-headered server blocks the attack entirely, this is a genuine but conditional, moderate-risk issue rather than a top-tier emergency. A vendor-released fix is available in 6.3.11.

RemediationAI

Vendor-released patch: upgrade the OMGF (host-webfonts-local) WordPress plugin to version 6.3.11 or later, which is the tagged release containing the fix per Trac changeset 3707539 (see https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?reponame=&new=3707539%40host-webfonts-local%2Ftags%2F6.3.11&old=3641590%40host-webfonts-local%2Ftags%2F6.3.10 and the trunk fix at https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/3707539/host-webfonts-local/trunk/src/Frontend/Process.php); the Wordfence advisory at https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/cd760ff9-fe72-44d6-a5f0-212a20dd2a51?source=cve should be consulted for the full vendor statement, and if immediate upgrade is impractical the plugin can be temporarily deactivated, accepting loss of local Google Fonts optimization. Because exploitation depends entirely on the server serving the plugin's retained .tmp file in a MIME-sniffable way, an effective compensating control is to have Apache or nginx/php-fpm emit X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff on all responses and set an explicit non-HTML Content-Type (for example application/octet-stream or text/plain) for .tmp artifacts under the plugin's cache directory, so that Chromium-based browsers will not execute injected markup; the trade-off is that overly broad nosniff or Content-Type rules can break other downloads or embedded resources on the site and must be tested. A stricter alternative is to block direct web access to the plugin's tmp/download directory by location rule (nginx) or <Directory>/<FilesMatch> directive (Apache), which removes the delivery vector entirely but may interfere with legitimate font caching/optimization behavior and any site components that fetch those files directly. Neither workaround addresses the underlying unescaped input, so patching to 6.3.11 remains the only complete fix, and site operators should also confirm that no unexpected .tmp files remain in the cache directory after upgrading.

Technical ContextAI · show details

The vulnerable component is the WordPress plugin OMGF (Host Webfonts Local, vendor daanvandenbergh, CPE cpe:2.3:a:daanvandenbergh:omgf_|_gdpr/dsgvo_compliant,_faster_google_fonts._easy.), which locally downloads, caches and rewrites Google Fonts so sites remain GDPR/DSGVO compliant and load faster. The root cause is CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation, i.e. cross-site scripting): the 's' search parameter is not adequately sanitized on input nor escaped on output as it flows through the plugin's comments-atom feed handling, and the tainted value ends up persisted in a .tmp artifact the plugin retains in its cache/download path. Referenced code includes src/Download.php line 78, src/Frontend/Process.php lines 411 and 663, and src/Optimize.php lines 159 and 411, all of which participate in fetching, processing and serving the optimized font resources. The stored-XSS payload itself is inert unless the web tier serves the .tmp file without a Content-Type and without X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff, since only then does a MIME-sniffing browser such as Chromium decide the file is HTML and execute the embedded script; this server-configuration dependency, together with the need for a victim to subsequently visit the injected page, is why the independent assessment raises attack complexity (AC:H) and lowers the practical score relative to the vendor-published CVSS. The CVSS vector confirms network reachability with no privileges required (PR:N) and no user interaction needed for the injection step (UI:N), with scope change (S:C) reflecting that the script executes in the context of the affected site's origin.

DescriptionCVE.org

The OMGF | GDPR/DSGVO Compliant, Faster Google Fonts. Easy. plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via 's' Search Parameter via comments-atom Feed in all versions up to, and including, 6.3.10 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Successful exploitation requires that the front-end server serves the retained .tmp file without a Content-Type or X-Content-Type-Options header, enabling MIME-sniffing browsers such as Chromium to execute the injected script - a condition present by default on many Apache and nginx/php-fpm deployments.

Executive ViewAI

Why It Matters

The OMGF plugin for WordPress, which optimizes Google Fonts, contains a stored cross-site scripting flaw affecting all versions up to and including 6.3.10. This could allow attackers to inject malicious scripts into pages served to site visitors, potentially leading to session theft or defacement and damaging brand trust. No public exploit identified at time of analysis, and no vendor-released patch identified at time of analysis.

Business Impact: High
Compensating Controls

Interim mitigations: disable the OMGF plugin if not essential; configure web servers to send X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff and a proper Content-Type for .tmp files; block direct HTTP access to .tmp files; deploy WAF rules to block XSS payloads in the 's' parameter; monitor logs for suspicious requests.
