Exploitation Conditions

Requires an authenticated low-privilege account (PR:L) able to set a CryptoWallet value in the YPTWallet plugin, and the YPTWallet plugin must be enabled/in use on the AVideo instance. Exploitation is gated on administrator interaction (UI:P): an admin must view the attacker's pending withdrawal request in pendingRequests.php for the stored payload to fire. Limiting factors: the payload only executes in the admin withdrawal-review context, so instances not using YPTWallet withdrawals, or where withdrawal requests are never reviewed in-browser, are not exposed.

Impact

The supplied CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P/VC:H/VI:H/VA:N/SC:H/SI:H/SA:N, score 9.3) reflects a network-reachable, low-complexity attack that nonetheless requires attacker privileges (PR:L - a wallet-configuring account) and victim interaction (UI:P - an admin must open the pending-requests page). The high subsequent-system impact (SC:H/SI:H) captures the privilege escalation to admin actions via the injected script. No EPSS score, KEV listing, or public POC was provided; this is not confirmed as actively exploited and no public exploit was identified at time of analysis. Realistically this is a genuine but conditional risk: it is a targeted stored-XSS-to-admin-takeover chain gated on obtaining a low-priv account and on an administrator viewing the malicious withdrawal request, not a mass-exploitable unauthenticated flaw. The 9.3 is defensible given the admin-takeover outcome but the PR:L and UI:P conditions meaningfully limit spray-and-pray exploitation.

Exploit ScenarioDerived

An attacker registers or uses a low-privilege AVideo account, opens the YPTWallet configuration, and enters a CryptoWallet value containing an HTML/script payload, which is stored unescaped in wallet_log.information. The attacker submits a withdrawal request; when an administrator opens pendingRequests.php to review it, the script runs in the admin session and issues same-origin fetch calls to perform administrative actions (e.g., creating an admin user or changing settings). No public POC was identified at time of analysis.

AnalysisAIv1 – Sep 11, 2026

Stored cross-site scripting in the YPTWallet plugin of WWBN AVideo (through commit c3edcc274c389816d434acadac07ee78eaf330c1) lets an authenticated low-privilege user plant malicious markup via a CryptoWallet configuration value that is base64-encoded but never HTML-escaped before being written to wallet_log.information. When an administrator reviews pending withdrawal requests in pendingRequests.php, the payload executes in their session, enabling attacker-driven administrative actions through same-origin fetch requests. Reported by VulnCheck with a vendor GitHub Security Advisory (GHSA-fvp5-q9jp-29mx); no public exploit identified at time of analysis.

RemediationAI

Upstream fix available (referenced via the GHSA advisory/commit); a specifically tagged patched release version was not provided in the input, so update to a build after commit c3edcc274c389816d434acadac07ee78eaf330c1 per the vendor advisory at https://github.com/WWBN/AVideo/security/advisories/GHSA-fvp5-q9jp-29mx. Until upgraded, apply output-context HTML escaping to the wallet_log.information field wherever it is rendered in pendingRequests.php, and consider disabling the YPTWallet plugin if crypto withdrawals are not in use (trade-off: removes wallet/withdrawal functionality). A restrictive Content-Security-Policy on the admin interface would blunt inline-script execution and same-origin exfiltration but may break legitimate admin UI scripts, and restricting/segmenting access to the admin withdrawal-review page reduces the pool of victims who can trigger the payload.

Technical ContextAI · show details

AVideo (CPE cpe:2.3:a:wwbn:avideo) is an open-source PHP streaming/video-sharing platform. The flaw is a classic CWE-79 stored XSS in its YPTWallet monetization plugin: CryptoWallet values submitted by users are base64-encoded (an encoding, not an output-context sanitizer) and stored in the wallet_log.information field. Because the value is not HTML-entity-escaped when rendered into the pendingRequests.php admin view, injected markup is treated as active HTML/JavaScript in the administrator's authenticated browser context. The stored, persistent nature means the payload fires whenever a privileged user opens the withdrawal-review page, and same-origin JavaScript can then invoke administrative endpoints with the admin's cookies/CSRF context.

DescriptionCVE.org

AVideo through commit c3edcc274c389816d434acadac07ee78eaf330c1 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the YPTWallet plugin where user-supplied CryptoWallet values are base64-encoded but not HTML-escaped before storage in wallet_log.information. Administrators viewing pending withdrawal requests in pendingRequests.php execute the stored markup in their session, allowing attackers to perform administrative actions via same-origin fetch requests.

Executive ViewAI

Why It Matters

WWBN AVideo's YPTWallet plugin contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability that allows any authenticated user to inject malicious code into administrator sessions, enabling unauthorized administrative actions and account takeover. Organizations running WWBN AVideo with YPTWallet enabled face elevated insider risk, where low-privilege users can escalate to admin-level access and modify critical system configurations or transactions without audit trail attribution.

Business Impact: Severe
Compensating Controls

Disable YPTWallet plugin until vendor patch is released; restrict administrative access to wallet functions via IP whitelisting and VPN enforcement; implement HTML Content-Security-Policy headers to block inline script execution; enforce multi-factor authentication on all administrator accounts; enable detailed audit logging and real-time alerting for wallet configuration changes and administrator session activity.
