Network-reachable by any authenticated contributor (PR:L, AV:N, AC:L); no scope change; integrity is high due to permanent canonical deletion; availability minor (content gone, not service down).

4DescriptionCVE.org
Craft CMS versions >= 5.0.0-RC1 and < 5.10.11 fail to perform an independent authorization check in ElementsController::actionDeleteForSite(). The method loads an element with checkForProvisionalDraft enabled and runs the deletion authorization check against the user's own provisional draft (which only verifies draft ownership), then propagates the deletion to the canonical element without re-checking permissions. As a result, an authenticated user who has viewEntries, viewPeerEntries, saveEntries, savePeerEntries, and editSite permissions but lacks the deleteEntriesForSite permission can hard-delete a canonical entry's site record (and, for single-site entries, the full element and content), which is irrecoverable via Craft's recycle bin.
AnalysisAI
Craft CMS versions 5.0.0-RC1 through 5.10.10 allow an authenticated low-privileged contributor to permanently delete canonical entry content by exploiting a broken authorization chain in ElementsController::actionDeleteForSite(). The method authorizes deletion against the user's provisional draft rather than the canonical element, then propagates the destructive action to the canonical record without re-verifying deleteEntriesForSite permission. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | The attacker must be authenticated to a Craft CMS 5.0.0-RC1 through 5.10.10 installation and hold the exact set of permissions: viewEntries, viewPeerEntries, saveEntries, savePeerEntries, and editSite - but must lack deleteEntriesForSite. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N) classifies this as network-reachable, low-complexity exploitation by any authenticated contributor - no elevated privileges or user interaction required beyond holding a standard editing role. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade to Craft CMS 5.10.11 or later, which introduces an independent authorization check against the canonical element before propagating site-record deletion. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
