Unauthenticated network-reachable handshake with a hardcoded key gives AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N; arbitrary SQL read/modify/delete yields C:H/I:H/A:H with no scope change.

DescriptionCVE.org

Shinobi before commit 5a76c74f contains a hardcoded connection key in the child node service that allows unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary database queries. Attackers reaching the child node port can present the hardcoded key during WebSocket handshake, then dispatch SQL queries through the onWebSocketDataFromChildNode handler to read and modify user records and camera configuration.

AnalysisAI

Unauthenticated arbitrary database query execution in the Shinobi open-source video management/NVR platform (versions prior to commit 5a76c74f) lets attackers who can reach the child node service run SQL against the backend. By presenting a hardcoded connection key during the child-node WebSocket handshake, an attacker bypasses authentication and dispatches queries through the onWebSocketDataFromChildNode handler to read and modify user records and camera configuration. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires network reachability to the Shinobi child node service port and use of the hardcoded connection key embedded in libs/childNode/utils.js to pass the WebSocket handshake - no account, credential theft, or user interaction is needed (PR:N/UI:N). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment This is a genuinely high-priority issue rather than an inflated CVSS number. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Upgrade to a build that includes the fix commit - Upstream fix available (commit 5a76c74f3977661ff3f9fd55a260db352c0b19c0, via merge request 554); because Shinobi ships as commit-based source rather than a tagged release, pull the latest code past that commit rather than relying on a version number (patch: https://gitlab.com/Shinobi-Systems/Shinobi/-/commit/5a76c74f3977661ff3f9fd55a260db352c0b19c0). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
